Dear Parents and Carers,
Our football team played on Monday in a friendly game against North Clifton. They played very
well and won 13-2! So well done to all the children involved.
A quick update on Clubs. Magical Maths has now finished, however, Arty Pots and Fiddlesticks
continue. Next Monday (30th November) will be the last Monday Club Night of the term, as will
next week’s Wednesday Netball session. Clubs will restart in January at the beginning of next
term.
Classes 1 and 2 will be visiting Brackenhurst Outdoor Education Centre next Thursday (3 rd
December) and will be getting involved in Christmas Craft activities, re-enacting the nativity,
and experiencing some of the animals on the farm.
‘Cakes and Carols’ Afternoon – Friday 11th December: 2-4.30pm. The PTA have left boxes in the
school reception for your hamper donations (themes are chocolate, beauty and traditional
Christmas). There is a form at the bottom of this newsletter for you to return if you would like
your child/ren to join in the gingerbread house building (again on 11 th Dec), and we can also
confirm that Arty Pots will be joining us that afternoon as well, so there will be plenty of crafty
activities for the children to participate in.
Arrangements for Friday 11th December – the afternoon will run in a similar way to the recent
Macmillan Coffee Afternoon. School is open to parents, friends and family from 2pm onwards.
If you can make it and would like to take your children out of class early, before or after you’ve
had a look round and had a drink and a cake, you are welcome too. The children will be singing at
3pm, just before the end of the day, and the raffle draw will also take place later in the
afternoon. If you are unable to attend, then staff will supervise children as normal, as will
After School Club.
Finally, if you’re ordering goods on-line running up to Christmas (or at any time), please use the
Giving Machine www.thegivingmachine.co.uk – each purchase you make generates money for the
school.
Parent Governor
We are looking to appoint a new parent governor. If you are interested please look at the
website where you will find full details of how to pursue this. Just go to key information and
then to parent governor. All forms must be submitted by 7 th December.
NB: Please note that Gold Book Assembly will be held at 9.00am on Friday 4 th December.
