Museum of Islamic Art
Where:
The Museum of Islamic Art is a very famous place known by all in Qatar. It is
located at The Doha Corniche and is designed by I.M. Pei, an Asian artist. The
museum sits on the bay of the corniche and is built on the water! The museum
also has ancient Islamic artifacts in it. The whole building structure looks Islamic.
From the ceiling to the floors, the shops, the rooms all of it! I visited the museum
in 2010, and it was amazing! Please take at what I found out about the museum.

The building is a very big place and has the artifacts found in different countries.
Maybe in the olden time people traveled around for trade or selling, but many of
the pieces have been found in countries far of sea like at: Spain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq,
Turkey, India and some other places in central Asia. Some pieces were found in
other countries. There were pots, jars, cups, weaponry, drawings, jewelry and
other items.

Shape:
The museum is a Ziggurat structured museum. It is shaped like that to reflect the
Ancient and Modern world. The museum is a solid building that is on water and
can hold many people and artifacts.
Designer:
The designer of the museum is I.M. Pei. He is very old and a good architect. He
designed many buildings and was born 1917.
Get In:
To get into the museum you have to pay money, of course, because the museum
cost a lot of money to build and a lot of effort and workers. It cost thousands and
thousands of Qatari Riyals.

Get Out:
When you get out you feel happy to have visited a wonderful historical place,
where you get to know about and culture. When you leave there is shop where
you can buy souvenirs to remember your visit.
Eating:
There is a restaurant in the museum and the food is delicious. You can have
practically anything. They have Arabian food also and there’s humus. Yum! You
can have a delicious meal.
Artifacts:
They have a lot of very cool artifacts, and they have different sections and
everything is labeled neatly and orderly. They have the first used money and
they have clothing of the people who used to wear them.

Study:
They have a great study library and it is a very quiet place to be to study and
think about what is in the building. You ask questions if you are not sure.
Library:
The library is huge! It is somewhat like the Study but has tons of books and you
can look up what you are trying to find. The assistants are really helpful so you
can ask them if you are looking up something. The assistants can find the books
for you and show you other references you can use.

First Museum:
They have some different artifacts from the first museums. From doing a lot of
hard work they could find these ancient leftovers.
Artistic Appearance:
At night the lights shine very bright like they are standing tall and being proud.
Glad to be Proud!
The museum is a very artistic place and it screams art and culture and history. I
would advise anyone this museum. It is famous In Qatar and it is magnificent!
