Media information FTT on hunt for graduate engineers in UK recruitment drive American company offers bright prospects for engineering graduates Derby, 6 October, 2014: After only opening its office in Derby in Nov (2013), FTT (UK) Ltd is already looking to recruit the UK’s brightest engineering graduates. FTT (UK) Ltd is a subsidiary of USA based Florida Turbine Technologies Inc. The international turbo machinery company will be exhibiting at The Graduate Engineer & Science Show on Wednesday 29th October at Derby’s Roundhouse where around 1,500 engineering and science students from across the country will consider career opportunities with some of the UK’s, and even the world’s, most respected engineering businesses. FTT will attend for the day to promote opportunities at its Derby office where the company focusses on all aspects of gas turbine component development including design, analysis, fabrication, assembly and testing. Although, as the team will explain, graduates joining the business can also expect to have the opportunity to travel to its offices in Florida, USA or Wildau, Germany. Robert Ress, FTT Chief Engineer, said: “FTT is a relatively small company – we employ just over 200 people worldwide - which means graduates can experience a wide range of engineering disciplines right from day one. This really helps to broaden their knowledge, perhaps beyond that which they might have studied as part of their degree. This proves a technically challenging work environment with excellent opportunities for personal and career growth. FTT plans to triple its UK workforce over the next three years and is particularly interested in talking to students studying ‘Design & Structures Engineering’ as well as ‘Manufacturing Engineering’ and asks for a minimum 2.2 degree classification. “The Graduate Engineer & Science Show is particularly timely for us and its location is certainly a bonus, given that we set up our first UK office in Derby within the last year. The FTT team is looking forward to meeting engineering students at the Show and talking to them about the prospects of working with us and, hopefully welcoming some of them onboard in 2015,” added Robert. FTT’s UK base will be responsible for procuring between £3 and £5 million a year of highlyengineered hardware from the UK supply chain and the company is keen to work in partnership with the University of Derby. Engineering students interested in applying for careers at FTT can either talk to the team on stand OR14 at The Graduate Engineer & Science Show on Wednesday 29th October at Derby’s Roundhouse, visit www.fttinc.com or post their CV to hr@fttinc.com www.thegraduateengineershow.co.uk ends For media enquiries please contact: Catherine Ashworth thoughtdynamicsPR 01332 258 394 catherine.ashworth@thoughtdynamicspr.com www.thoughtdynamicspr.com Notes to editors FTT (UK) Ltd is a growing, world class turbomachinery company specialising in engineering, developing and testing of turbines and other components for military and commercial aircraft, space propulsion and other industries including power stations.
