Existing activities in the field a. Describe the work by the stakeholders in the selected research field, provide examples of relevant publications, patents, and occasions you were a guest speaker. b. Describe the existing structures for collaboration that will be used in the centre’s operations. 2. Vision and strategy a. Describe your vision and your strategy for achieving it, expressed in the medium-term (5-10 years) and long-term (> 10 years). Clarify how the chosen field of research contributes to increased growth. Briefly describe the vision for the competence centre. b. Describe the proposed competence centre in relation to the main applicant's long-term research strategy and innovation environment. c. Explain how other approved or proposed and related initiatives influence the design and implementation of the competence centre. d. Describe how a competence centre can supplement and strengthen activities already ongoing. e. Describe the centre's overall goals. f. Describe the long-term potential for maintaining structures and networks created within the competence centre. 3. Stakeholders a. Describe which actors will be included in the competence centre and the competences they bring. b. List who you think are the key people in the competence centre (include CVs for these individuals as annexes) c. Describe how you feel that you have an optimum combination of competences to achieve your vision for the competence centre. 4. The structure of the competence centre a. Describe the environment’s geographical focus. If the centre consists of multiple nodes, describe how you will achieve a sufficient critical mass within the competence centre to achieve an optimal research and innovation environment. b. Describe how collaboration between the competence centre’s various stakeholders will occur and how you feel that the various stakeholders can complement each other to achieve a dynamic research and innovation environment. c. Describe the added value of collaboration between the stakeholders. 5. Implementation and outcomes a. Briefly describe the timetable and milestones – what you want to achieve by different points in time. b. Describe the overall budget, the requested amount per year and the supposed sources of other funding. Specify the investment each participating party is making (divided into in-kind services and cash).
