REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
Monday, June 2, 2014
The regular meeting of the Governance Board of the Sheboygan Leadership Academy (SLA)
was held on Monday, the 2nd day of June at 6:00 p.m., following the SLA Annual Meeting, at
Sheboygan Leadership Academy, teachers’ lounge, 1305 St. Clair Avenue, Sheboygan,
Wisconsin. This regular meeting was announced in compliance with the Open Meeting Law of
the Wisconsin State Statutes.
Present: Mrs. Peggy Henseler, Mrs. Denise Quasius, Mrs. Sarah Annelin, Mrs. Karen Fisher,
Mrs. Jean Puls, Ms. Gretchen Thomes, Mr. Tim Thompson, Mrs. Karen Grupe, and Mr. Tim
Stielow.
Excused: Mr. Ron VanRooyen and Mr. Tim Eirich
President Quasius called the meeting to order at 5:58 p.m.
APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Moved by Mrs. Gretchen Thomes and seconded by Mr. Tim Stielow to approve agenda with the
inclusion of the election of governance board officers for 2014 - 2015 school year. All Ayes.
Motion carried unanimously.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Moved by Mrs. Tim Stielow and seconded by Ms. Gretchen Thome1s to approve the minutes of
Monday, April 14, 2014. All Ayes. Motion carried unanimously.

1. Financial statements as of May 2014 were presented by Mrs. Karen Grupe.

1. Oversight obligations through August 2014 were reviewed.

1. Vice Principal – update on hiring process.

Fundraising Update:
1. Potential corporate donors
2. Fundraising event will be February 28, 2015.

Moved by Mrs. Karen Grupe and seconded by Mrs. Karen Fisher, to add a Governance Board
Recruitment Committee and a Charter Legislation Committee. All Ayes. Motion carried
unanimously.

2. Election of Officers. Moved by Mr. Tim Stielow and seconded by Mr. Tim
Thompson to reinstate the executive positions for the Sheboygan Leadership
Academy Governance Board for the 2014 – 2015 school year as follows:
Mrs. Denise Quasius, President
Mrs. Karen Fisher, Vice President
Mrs. Sarah Annelin, Secretary
Mrs. Karen Grupe, Treasurer
All Ayes. Motion carried unanimously.
Mr. Timothy Thompson, parent member of the SLA governance board for the
2013/2014 school year was thanked for his service to the governance board.
Mr. Eirik Nelson was elected by parent vote to serve as the 2014/2015 parent
representative.
ADJOURN
Moved by Mr. Tim Stielow and seconded by Mrs. Gretchen Thomes to adjourn. All Ayes.
Motion carried unanimously.
