Week at a glance
Monday: Make an Equivalent chart to start recording findings. Session 1.3 Finding fractional part of
rectangular and finding the percent. Percents for Fourths and eighths. After students work on finding
solution have a discussion on What Percent is 3/8
Tuesday : quiz on bell work of order of operation, halving a number and multiplying. Student WB unit
4 page 11 & 12
Wednesday: Session 1.4 Continue work on 1.3. They will be working on converting thirds and sixths
to percent. Class discussion how they found what percent 1/3 is.
Thursday: SWB unit 4 pg 13 and 14: Finish working on percents. For students who finish they will
figure out how to fold a piece of paper into fractional parts and mark it like a ruler.
Friday: Make observation of percents and fractions list any connections you might make to help
memorize them. Math problem. How do you know it’s ½ . Students will discuss, draw or use graphs
to prove it 7/16 is =, <, > to ½
PARENTS YOU CAN HELP YOUR CHILD START MEMORIZING THE PERCENT CHART AND GET
THEM TO SHARE THEIR STARTEGIES FO FINIDNG THE ANSWERS IN CLASS.

Monday: Introduce run-on sentences and fragments. Grammar book 450 – 454. Have students come up with a run on
sentence and a fragment. Place on index card to use for review Tuesday.
Tuesday: Review fragment and run on sentences. Introduce how to correct run-on sentences and fragments.
Have students decide how to fix run on sentences with period, a semicolon or a conjunction.
Wednesday: Mechanic and Usage for correcting Run-on sentences.
Thursday: Review for Test
