The district is using the Literacy Collaborative Language and Literacy Framework in conjunction with the English Language Proficiency Benchmarks and Outcomes (ELPBO). Regarding the curriculum, the district should note that the Department has new regulations in place, which may affect the district’s corrective action plan (CAP). Process will begin by becoming more familiar with WIDA standards by attending sessions hosted by WIDA & DESE; investigating process others used when developing curriculum, and using resources from the WIDA website as well as those created for teaching ELLs.
