Conecsus, LLC Job Description Process / Chemical Engineer Conecsus, LLC has immediate openings for Process / Chemical engineer for their metallurgical facilities located in Terrell, TX. Conecsus, LLC is a sophisticated recycling facility that processes complex industrial residues and wastes containing primarily Tin, Lead, Silver, Gold, and Copper, and converts them into usable metal products. In addition, our Conecsus, LLC has a division that is the largest buyer of scrap (unserviceable) jet engines in the world (Conecsus Aerospace), that specializes in the extraction and recovery of precious metals: Gold, Platinum, Palladium and Silver from the purchased aerospace scrap. The Process / Chemical Engineer will be responsible for the following: Conduct, plan and assist with metallurgical or process improvements, new developments and the testing and analysis of designs. Review, investigate and develop appropriate recommendations regarding assigned engineering projects and implement solutions as a result of the work. Manage technical aspects of feasibility studies Report metallurgical or process issues and makes recommendations to Operations Manager and General Manager on how to resolve/correct the issues Reviews and recommends new or enhanced metallurgical testing equipment or protocols Contributes to the planning and budgeting effort designed for the engineering areas Evaluates and administers contracts with vendors for the provision of services and equipment Contribute to site strategic planning and budgeting efforts for metallurgical testing and processes Coordinate with internal & contract engineering groups to stay on time & within budgets Interface with area managers, R&D, project engineers, operators and maintenance Drive to maintain full compliance with all safety and environmental rules and regulations Prepare material and energy balances for new products / improved processes. Knowledge of Process Equipment and Materials making Knowledge with Process Validation principals and practices for equipment and processes. Ability to develop, write and implement SOP’s Must be proficient in MS Excel Performs other duties as required Qualifications: Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering and a minimum of five years engineering experience in the Mining / Metals related industry Knowledge of the principles and methods used in complex metallurgical and processing analyses Have the ability to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions Have the ability to evaluate and implement new methods and techniques for operational improvement. Supervisory and leadership experience Skilled in effective communication, both written and verbal Bilingual (Spanish and English) is a plus Criteria/Conditions Work in a metallurgical plant setting, may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, fumes or airborne particles While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 30 pounds) during the course of the workday Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in the plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required The Process Engineer / Chemical Engineer position has been designated as safety sensitive position and required to attend OSHA and Hazard Recognition Training
