NWEA has developed a self-guided learning plan to support your transition to Web-Based MAP.
Topics include key differences between platforms, how to enroll students and staff, how to
prepare for and proctor tests, as well as MAP basics. This 3-step plan uses a combination of prerecorded and live webinars, listed below.
1. Self-Directed Training:
MAP Essentials provides district staff with foundational information to get started with WebBased MAP. Note that each training category contains an introductory tutorial focused on the
transitioning process. These sessions will set the stage for your learning. We encourage your
staff to view all sessions pertinent to their role in the district.

Web-Based MAP. It will provide an overview of the MARC Homepage, show users how to
create and start a Web-Based MAP session, provide a look at both the student’s and proctor’s
experience during a Web-Based MAP session, and review the ways to end a Web-Based MAP
test. This webinar is suggested for first time proctors and proctors who wish to review best
practices prior to the test season.
Proctor Training Advanced – Web-Based MAP
This webinar provides tips for proctoring and troubleshooting some issues that may occur in a
web-based assessment. The webinar incorporates best practices of our technical consultants
and over 100 partner interactions. This webinar is suggested for proctors who have completed
the first Web-Based MAP Proctoring webinar or who have been successfully proctoring for
several test seasons.
