Assistant Director, Nurse Anesthesia Program
Marian University has an outstanding opportunity for a highly energetic and ambitious
professional to assist the Director of the Nurse Anesthesia Program in the areas of
curriculum, teaching, and evaluation. The Leighton School of Nursing (LSON) will be
offering a Doctorate of Nursing Practice (NP) in the state’s only Nurse Anesthesia
Program leading to the Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). The Assistant
Director will be responsible for community outreach to clinical agencies, the negotiation
of contracts for student clinical placement and the recruitment of students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist in the creation and accreditation of a graduate Nurse Anesthesia Program.

Strategically initiate and grow the Nurse Anesthesia program.

Represent the University in the School of Nursing and Marian University
committees and governess.

Teach courses in the School of Nursing graduate and undergraduate programs as
needed.

Develop and maintain the Nurse Anesthesia program curriculum.

Work with faculty to create excellence in education.

Maintain compliance with accreditation standards.

Maintain and report evaluation criteria for program outcomes.

Provide and implement strategies to facilitate growth of the program.

Represent the Leighton School of Nursing in the greater healthcare community.

Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
 Knowledge of and commitment to the mission of Marian University
 Doctoral degree in nursing, current certification in Nurse Anesthesia
 Evidence of current and ongoing professional activities to maintain certification
 Prior academic appointment
 Evidence of scholarship
 Experience in administering a Nurse Anesthesia program including curriculum design,
accreditation process and outcome assessment
 Engagement in professional organizations
 Valid RN license and credentials to practice as a Nurse Anesthetist in the State of Indiana
