Scholarship Information Purpose: To provide a scholarship(s) to deserving Washington resident students seeking a degree in the health professions. Award Components: Each year WestSound Orthopaedics will donate up to $5000 to a scholarship fund to support our local community by rewarding students seeking an education in the health professions. The amount and number of recipients will be determined by the WestSound Orthopaedics scholarship committee based on the number of qualified applicants. Criteria: 1. Applicant must be a Washington resident. 2. Applicant must be a senior in high school or have a high school diploma. 3. Applicant must be seeking a degree in the health professions. 4. Applicant must be entering into a full-time Washington state college/university program. 5. Applicant must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. 6. Preference may be given to a student who demonstrates financial need. Application Process: (Applicant must submit) 1. Completed application form. 2. Letter addressing the Scholarship committee containing a brief explanation of career goals and biographical (background) information. 3. Two letters of recommendation from a teacher, coach, or employer supporting the application. 4. A current high school or college transcript. Deadline for applications is May 18th. Applications postmarked after this date will not be considered.
