Featuring world class, high definition photography set to a timeless soundtrack of classical music, Red Rock Serenade airs on___________ at ___________. A compelling departure from much of television fare, Red Rock Serenade takes viewers on a meditative journey through the breathtaking scenery of the American West’s iconic red rock country, including Arches, Bryce Canyon, Zion, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef, and Grand Canyon National Parks — all set to music by some of the world's greatest classical composers including Bach, Brahms, Chopin, and Beethoven. “We set out to make a film with world class images and world class music,” says producer John Howe. “I hope we’ve achieved that. I’m very proud of the depth and immense scale the film has.” The program does not use narration, choosing instead to let the music guide viewers to pristine destinations they may have visited, or to enjoy an unparalleled introduction to the stark and beautiful landscape of the Colorado Plateau. The film, which includes breathtaking aerial shots, shows the sharply divergent geological character of the area. The ancient footprints of indigenous people are captured as well through centuries-old structures in stunning locations. "Red Rock Serenade is a treasure-trove of footage that has been gathered painstakingly over the last ten years, and transports viewers to secret, hard-to-reach locations, as well as to the grand vistas that define the West,” says co-producer Carol Dalrymple. “It's meant to take the viewer on a timeless journey." Red Rock Serenade is produced by Salt Lake City public television station KUED, which also produced Grand Canyon Serenade, Yellowstone Serenade, and Desert Dreams. Red Rock Serenade is funded by the Utah Office of Tourism, C. Comstock Clayton Foundation, and PBS. Press Contact: Mary Dickson Mdickson@kued.org 801 232-3471
