2016-2017 Latino Alumni Association Scholarship Application - Incoming Freshmen The Latino Alumni Association awards annual scholarships to students who demonstrate a strong commitment to the Latino community while pursuing an undergraduate degree at Loyola Marymount University. This is a fouryear renewable need-based scholarship opportunity for students who continue to maintain the minimum guidelines set forth by the terms of the scholarship. Eligibility criteria: 1. Applicant has applied for admission to Loyola Marymount University for the 2016-2017 academic year. 2. Applicant will be registering for Fall 2016 classes as a full time student carrying a minimum 12 units and will continue to be a full time student each subsequent semester while also maintaining academic good standing with the university. 3. Applicant has or will submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA application). 4. Applicant completes and submits the LMU Latino Alumni Association Scholarship Application with the requested essay question responses by the following date: March 1, 2016 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time for Incoming Freshmen 5. Applicant has an unmet financial need as determined by the LMU Financial Aid Office. 6. Applicant is actively involved in community service as detailed in their application and/or essay questions. The intent of this program is to supplement the student’s financial aid. In applying for an LMU Latino Alumni Association scholarship, the applicant must apply for all other financial aid resources. The LMU Financial Aid Office determines the applicant’s financial aid eligibility. Application must be typed (handwritten documents will not be accepted).
