The E-Discovery Technology Analyst (“Analyst”) is responsible for handling all aspects of data management using the firm’s in-house and managed services e-discovery technology tools. The Analyst will report directly to the E-Discovery Technology Manager and also to the E-Discovery Practice Group Chair, but will also collaborate closely with the team’s Project Managers.
The Analyst is chiefly responsible for directing and managing all data from initial receipt through final disposition and in all critical interim steps. The Analyst will process all data received in initial raw format, converting same to the firm’s various document review systems. It is expected that the Analyst will master all phases of data processing and management and become adept in the use of all the firm’s various processing and review systems.
The E-Discovery Technology Analyst will communicate the status of all ongoing projects with the team Manager and Project Managers. The Analyst will assist on building cases, processing data, creating load files in various formats, and perform various Quality Control checks during data processing and when assisting with Document
Productions.
The Analyst will ensure proper disposition of all data on the firm’s FTP and internal transfer sites. The group maintains an inventory of available media for use in document productions and to facilitate the transfer of data and the Analyst will oversee that inventory.
The E-Discovery Technology Group generates and records various metrics and the Analyst will assist in that endeavor. Attendance by the Analyst in all team meetings is essential.
As the firm still operates various legacy document processing and review systems, the analyst will assist with those legacy systems as well as help with the archiving of data. The Analyst will assist with other projects as determined by the Manager.

•Control of all electronic discovery and production data from receipt through disposition
•Constant, active communication with the Manager and Project Managers
•Collaboration with other Analysts and Project Managers
•Oversee data storage on numerous in-house and managed services systems
•Hands-on daily work in Relativity, Nuix, Nuix Director, Ipro, Abbyy OCR, and various Load file formats
•Mastery of all data processing systems, techniques, and workflows
•Involvement in ongoing data disposal and archiving
•Oversight of FTP site data and internal transfer locations
•Maintenance of Chain of Custody where appropriate
•Assist with case activity involving all aspects of Electronic Discovery, case data management, document retention, production of data, and effective use of resources
•Ongoing contact and communication with Project Managers throughout the entire case lifecycle
•Involvement in vendor activity and communication
•Build and maintain datasets using state-of-the-art document processing and review tools
•Track all case-related activity utilizing project management tools and completion of all relevant electronic tracking and similar forms
•Accurately observe all standard E-Discovery Technology conventions and Best Practices, such as deduplication, denist’ing, other methods of culling of data, and time zone management, including the application of complex search queries and criteria
•Mastery of load file format and manipulation is essential
•Maintain back-end server and folder structure of databases, image collections, native files, mail stores and load files
•Assist with the identification and archiving of old case data
•Participate in quality control checking of document productions, working closely with Project Managers
•Perform stringent quality control checks of data and load files created internally or from vendors and other third party sources, for loading into E-Discovery Technology applications
•Maintain tracking logs for data received and loaded; keep inventory of data media received for each project; maintain proper Chain of Custody for all original media and procedures
•Provide assistance with requests including web site capturing, and audio and video capturing and editing
•Collaborate with other E-Discovery Technology team members in all aspects project work, as needed, but also possess the wherewithal to work alone
•Reports to the E-Discovery Technology Manager and E-Discovery Group Practice Chair
•Write clear, concise regular status updates to Project Managers
•Assist with testing existing as well as new software and participate in vendor demonstrations
•Record on a daily basis all time worked
•Perform other duties, as assigned by the E-Discovery Technology Manager
•Occasional travel may be required
•Pursue additional education and training in relevant E-Discovery Technology topics
•Understand, and strictly maintain, the confidentiality of all matters involved
Bachelor's degree or solid equivalent experience in an E-Discovery Technology or Litigation Support Analyst or equivalent role. Minimum of 3 years of relevant E-Discovery Technology or Litigation Support experience, preferably in a law firm, but vendor experience also considered. Sound appreciation of law firm culture and legal team demands. Understanding of the full EDRM lifecycle, both electronic and paper discovery, and production, as well as E-Discovery Technology best practices is required. Considerable hands-on experience with E-Discovery Technology processing software, review platforms, load file creation, handling, and manipulation, and repository administration, Acrobat, FTP, and project management software needed. Strong hands-on experience with kCura Relativity, Nuix, LexisNexis Concordance and LAW PreDiscovery, Thomson
Reuters West Case Notebook, Sanction or Trial Director, and Microsoft Office is a big plus. Involvement with
Early Case Assessment and Advanced Analytics is beneficial. Familiarity with managed services or online hosting environments is desirable.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. Ability to train both one-on-one and small groups and in preparing training materials. Maintains strong attention to detail and quality control, even under pressure. Flexibility of schedule with some off-hour availability is important.
