Highlights:
 Has two years teaching experience at Delhi University and 35 years R&D experience
at Central Road Research Institute. The experience is in the field of Traffic and
Transport planning, Transport Economics, Evaluation of Highway Projects, Accident
Analysis, Road Safety Management and Road Safety Audits Studies, Imparting
Lectures and Organising Training programmes to traffic police personnel & highway
engineers related to road safety, Environmental Issues, road safety audits, etc.
 Has done PhD in Transport Economics & Road Safety (1995), entitled “CostBenefit Priorities in Measures for Reducing Road Accidents and Injuries in
Metropolitan Cities of India”.
 Was a core member for producing Manual for Safety in Road Design (1998) and
Road Safety Audit Manual (2003 & 2010 revised).
 Has done number of road Safety Audit Projects at
various stages of the project design construction,
existing roads and on expressways, bypass etc.
 Has done projects on accident recording & Analysis
Procedures in India.
 Was project leader for a number of research projects on road safety dealing with
vulnerable road users safety.
 Has attended the “Executive Training Programme on Road Safety” in Sweden
(May, 2000) organized by SweRoad and financed by World Bank for high officials
 Received Certificate of Merit from Institution of Engineers (Dec 2000) for the paper
“Travel Needs of Women”.
 Recently presented two papers on Road Safety Audit and Pedestrian Safety in IRF
Conference at Lisbon, Portugal in May, 2010.
 Has published around 100 research papers and around 75 technical reports.
