Canon Perdido Street, Santa Barbara 93101 | 1 The tradition of an all-star magic show started in 1956 when two young entrepreneurs, Milt Larsen and Oliver Berliner, produced a show called Hocus Pocus ‘56. At first, the shows played for a very limited time only, but as the number of fans grew, the number of performances was expanded. This gave Larsen the idea of forming a full-time private club for magicians and magic enthusiasts, and thus was born the Magic Castle, a private club for magicians and magical enthusiasts which opened its doors in 1963. Terry Hill, a longtime Magic Castle member, made the point that although magicians could be seen throughout the year at the Castle, the public rarely had a chance to see these great performers. Also, the Castle had stage limitations and was restricted to audiences over twenty-one years of age. There was a real need for an exciting full evening family-friendly show like It’s Magic! Danny Cole Danny Cole grew up in Los Angeles and began to study magic at the age of ten. Soon he became involved in the Academy of Magical Arts Junior Program based at the Magic Castle in Hollywood where he collaborated with other young magicians to hone and develop his style of magic. In 1996 at the age of 17, Danny Cole won the prestigious Lance Burton Teenage Stage Contest held in Las Vegas, and the following year Lance featured Danny's act on his NBC television special, Lance Burton, Master Magician: The Encounter. In 1999 Danny was awarded the Academy of Magical Arts’ “Platinum Award for Outstanding Junior Achievement” and the World Magic Awards Committee’s “Rising Star of Magic Award.” In 2004, Danny starred in an hour-long magic special called THEM, which premiered on NBC, and was voted the “Stage Magician of the Year” by the membership of the Magic Castle for 2004 and 2005. Today, Danny is one of the world's premier magicians refusing to imitate and insisting on developing new concepts in magic. Mystina Mystina trained as a dancer from the age of three at the Jean Pearce School of Dance. As a young dancer, she appeared on TV shows such as, “Junior Showtime,” “Stars on Sunday,” and the “Les Dawson Show.” After turning professional at age eighteen and performing pantomimes in the U.K. and Revues in Italy, Turkey and Israel, she combined her natural dance ability, with her ear for music and flair for magic to become Mystina at age 21. Mystina guickly gained recognition from her peers, being thrice voted, “Best Female Magician,” and overall winner for the “Most Entertaining Magical Act” by the International Brotherhood of Magicians, and receiving The World Magic Award for “Rising Star of Magic.” Mystina has performed Royal Command Performances for Prince Rainier of Monaco, entertained on the Cunard World Cruise, and has graced many of the stages of Las Vegas appearing with many of the top names in the business, including Lance Burton, Shimada, Paul Daniels, Harry Blackstone Jr. and others. Whether it’s resorts of Japan, the stages of London or the theaters of America, this high-kicking, energetic performer guarantees that every moment is magic. Lobero Theatre | 33. E. Canon Perdido Street, Santa Barbara 93101 | 2 Tom Ogden Tom Ogden has appeared in Las Vegas, Atlantic City and Lake Tahoe, and has opened for such acts as Billy Crystal, Robin Williams, The Osmonds and B.J. Thomas. His television work has included The World’s Greatest Magic (NBC) and The Great Magic of Las Vegas (FOX), as well as numerous commercials. He has twice been voted “Magician of the Year” in the Parlour of Prestidigitation at the famous Magic Castle in Hollywood, and has received an astounding additional 14 nominations in other categories. See more at https://vimeo.com/79699020 Dan Raspyni Dan Raspyni has been called a juggling genius for his unique and entertaining twist on the 2000 year-old art of juggling. His clever one-of-a-kind stunts have earned him two Guinness Book world records and three appearances on The Tonight Show. In 2009, Dan Raspyni was presented with the International Juggling Association’s “Award of Excellence” in recognition of his outstanding work as a professional juggler.
