Final Project Due Date:______________________________________________________________
For this math project you will be creating a review booklet of many of the concepts we have learned since
the beginning of the year. Your booklet will have the following requirements.
Cover/Title Page
1. Create an appropriate math-related title for your booklet and include graphics related to your title.
2. Include your name
Table of Contents
1. Include page titles and corresponding page numbers
5 pages of content
1. Create a number line from -2 to +2 that will include zero and 5 other rational and irrational
numbers (for a total of 8 numbers). Make sure the numbers are at correct intervals.
2. Create a word problem that can be solved using the Pythagorean Theorem. Write the equation.
Solve the equation showing all work. Use graphics/illustrations.
3. Create 4 scientific notation problems. Show the numbers in both standard form and scientific
notation. Explain your work.
4. Write the following 5 rules for powers/exponents: multiplying, division, power to a power, zero
rule, and negative exponents. Include examples of each rule with work shown.
5. Create a multi-step word problem. Define a variable and the unknowns. Write an equation to
solve the problem. Solve the equation showing all steps. Use graphics/illustrations.
Glossary
1. Include the following terms in your glossary: Natural numbers, Whole numbers, integers, rational
numbers, irrational numbers, Pythagorean Theorem, right triangle, expression, equation, square
roots, cube roots, scientific notation
2. Each term must have the correct definition. Include examples or pictures with your term where
appropriate.
Other important instructions
1. Your final project must be in booklet form and may NOT be on lined paper. (NO LINED PAPER)
2. Each page should have a title.
3. Text may be typed or neatly handwritten.
4. Pictures and graphics to illustrate may be hand-drawn, clipped from magazines or newspapers,
printed from the computer or the Internet, etc.
