For nearly 45 years, the Utah Manufacturers Association has recognized tremendous
efforts by Utah manufacturing companies in the state. The association has a long history
of recognizing these companies for their tremendous efforts in improving their
manufacturing processes, contributing to the communities in which they live, driving the
business economy and in providing a safe working environment for their employees.
At the Utah Manufacturers Association 110th Annual Banquet, four exceptional
manufacturing companies in the state were recognized for outstanding performance in
operational performance and best practices, economic achievement, workplace safety,
community and state involvement, public outreach and fidelity to the principles of free
enterprise. These companies have demonstrated areas of expertise and outstanding
business practices in their individual industry subsectors as well as demonstrating this to
the general business community.
Recognizing that companies of different sizes face different challenges and obstacles in
their various companies as well as in their individual manufacturing processes, awards
were presented in four different categories. The ranges of company sizes and categories
awarded were for 1-50 Employees, 51 to 200 Employees, 201-500 Employees and 500
Employees and above respectively. We also presented an award for exceptional
workforce development efforts by a manufacturing company. Awards were presented to
the following companies.
In the category of 1-50 employees the award was presented to PowerBlanket of Salt Lake
City, Utah.
Powerblanket started in 2005 in Salt Lake City, Utah with one goal – to solve heating
problems. Featuring patented GreenHeat technology, Powerblanket delivers a barrier of
uniform directional heat where it’s needed most – preventing fluids from freezing and

County and for receiving this award.
In the category of 50-200 employees. The award was presented to Futura Industries of
Clearfield, Utah.
Futura Industries is one of the top aluminum extruders in the world and delivers
customized, start-to-finish aluminum extrusion services. They focus on reliable,
responsive service to ensure their customers receive flawless results each and every
time they partner with them.
Their company culture as a premier aluminum extruder promotes teamwork, quality

In the category of 500 employees and above the award was presented to Lifetime
Products of Clearfield, Utah.
At Lifetime Products, they continually challenge themselves to think differently, think
better. After inventing the first adjustable height basketball system over thirty years ago,
Lifetime continued forward to invent the first portable basketball hoop and then the first
complete basketball system packaged in one box.

Manufacturers are awarded the Workforce Development Award for excelling in areas of
workforce planning and development. Skills gap and educational training are paramount
for the industry as we move forward in addressing future work force needs. We honor
companies that are proactively addressing their needs and setting an example for other
companies in the industry on how to address this difficult and changing issue.
This year’s recipient of the Workforce Development Award is Autoliv, Inc. Autoliv
designs, manufactures and sells state of the art automotive safety systems. Autoliv is a
leader in sales and technology with company sales over $9.2 billion. They sell to all
major vehicle manufacturers and is a Fortune 500 company with an A-credit rating
(S&P). They have 80 facilities in 28 countries with 18 technical centers and 20 crash test
tracks. They employ greater than 60,000 associated worldwide.
