Veterinary Committee Regulations
General Provisions
I-The main objective of the regulations of the International
Federation and veterinary regulations is to achieve impartiality
and fair play while maintaining the safety, health and welfare of
horses participating in the games.
II- All International events must be organized according to the
regulations of the Tent Pegging International Federation,
Veterinary Regulations and the game –related rules. That
includes supervising and maintaining the health and welfare of
all horses involved.
III- The cases not set forth in this regulation, may be raised the
Referees’ Committee to give its opinion and submit the same to
the Board of Directors of the International Federation for
decision and ratification. Also, the proposals to amend the
provisions of these regulations (wholly or partially), shall be
submitted vide a memo from the Committee to the Board of
Directors for consideration and approval of the amendment.
Article ( 1): Definition of the Veterinarian in the International
Tent Pegging Federation
Veterinarian in the International Tent Pegging Federation is he
who practices as a Veterinarian for horses and registered in his
Local Federation's records in this capacity .
Article (2): Definition of the horse in the International Tent Pegging
Federation
any horse registered in ITPF and have its passport with microchip
and should be fit for the competation and not less then 5 years
old.

Article ( 3) : Categories
1 - Official Veterinarian
2 – Treating Veterinarian
Article ( 4) : Terms of registering Veterinarians according to the
categories:
To submit an application to the Board of Directors for ITPF
through the local federation and meet following requirements:
1 - Official Veterinarian:
A - He must have a Bachelor Degree in Veterinary Medical
Sciences.
B – He must have at least five (5) year experience in the
treatment and dealing with horses.
C – Has successfully passed the Qualification Course Test.
D – Must have paid both the Annual Subscription Fee and the
Course Fee when his request accepted.
E- Participate at least in three local or international competition.
F- Approval of the vet. Comity
2 – Treating Veterinarian:
A - He must have a Bachelor Degree in Veterinary Medical
Sciences.
B – He must have at least five (5) year experience in the
treatment and dealing with horses.
C – Must have paid both the Annual Subscription Fee
Article ( 5) : Responsibility of the Local Federations:
1 – The Local Federations may choose qualified Veterinarians
who have the skill and experience to perform their veterinary
duties and provide them with the necessary administrative
assistance enabling them to accomplish their jobs satisfactorily.
2 – The Local Federations must nominate veterinarians to be
included on the approved list of the Tent PeggingInternational
Federation.
3 - The Local Federations must provide all the necessary
-3Veterinary Doctors accredited with
documents for the
them to carry out their duties satisfactorily.
4 – The Local Federations must ensure that all information
about the horses registered for the Tent Pegging Sport are
correct and consistent with their Database including the Digital
Chips (Microchip of each Horse) and ITPA passports.
5 - The Local Federations organizing International Tournament
must seek the help of one of the International Foreign
Veterinarians on their side to supervise over the event as a
veterinarian.
Article ( 6) : Responsibility of the Veterinary Committee:
I - Monitor the matches and conduct veterinary supervision on
the horses participating in the games.
II - Register veterinarians and classify them according to their
categories and seniority.
III - Nominate International Veterinarians for International
Tournaments as approved by the Board of Directors.
IV - Coordinate with the organizing Committee to ensure the
availability of the Digital Chips numbering (Digital Microchips)
for all the horses participating in the International Matches and
supervise conducting the draw for the horses according to the
horse’s passport, description and Digital Chip approved by its
own Federation.
V - Decide on matters referred to it by the Board of Directors of
the International Federation.
