WHAT:
The tenth annual FITNESS Magazine Mind, Body +Spirit Games, in partnership with New
York Road Runners, will be held Saturday, September 17th in New York’s Central Park.
This fun-filled day devoted to health and fitness features activities for the whole family,
including both a women’s and men’s 4-mile run along with kids’ races (for ages 2-12).
Trainer Bob Harper and NFL Alumni Player Amani Toomer will kick off the Kids’ Races on
behalf of charitable sponsor GenYOUth to promote their nationwide campaign to inspire
and educate youth about the importance of nutrition, wellness and exercise.
GenYOUth’s sponsor for this effort is The Quaker Oats Company, Microsoft XBOX Kinect,
and Discovery Education. There will also be a Gen YOUth tent featuring a Quaker
Oatmeal Breakfast Bar and Xbox Game Station that is free and open to the public.
Biggest Loser: Couples Winners Olivia Ward & Hannah Curlee will kick off the Women’s
Race with FITNESS EIC, Betty Wong.
The event is sponsored by ASICS, Birkenstock, Garnier, Oakley and Sun-Maid.
