Erin Coffman
Erin serves as the Vice President of the Dyess Spouses’ Club (DSC). As a DSC officer, she helps lead a board of 10
members to raise and distribute funds for scholarships for military spouses and dependents as well as local and
national non-profit organizations to include Air Force Villages. Previously, she served as the DSC publicity chair
where she was in charge of marketing DSC event information to the base and the local community. Additionally,
Erin serves as the 317 Operations Support Squadron’s lead Key Spouse supporting the health and welfare of
families of deployed members from the squadron. Finally, Erin continued her service to the community by
serving as the decoration committee chair for the Junior League of Abilene’s Christmas Carousel, the primary
fundraiser for the Abilene Chapter. The Junior League of Abilene is a women’s civic organization whose mission is
to promote volunteerism, develop the potential of women and improve the community through the effective
action and leadership of trained volunteers. Erin is a committed Air Force spouse, mother, and member of the
community. Erin strives to lead by example and raise a thriving healthy family.
Erin is a mother to a lively two year old and newborn. She is married to Capt Chris Coffman, a C-130J Pilot. She
was born in Fullerton, California. She swam in the 2000 Olympic Trials, placing 36th in the nation in the 100mbreast stroke. Erin accepted a scholarship to swim at the University of California at Berkeley where she qualified
for Pac-10 Conference Championships 4 years in a row and the NCAA championships her junior year. She
graduated in 2005 with a degree in political science and a minor in Scandinavian Studies. Subsequently, she went
to work for Speedo USA as an intern in Sports marketing/promotion. After working for a year in Los Angeles, she
took a position as a sales representative covering five states in the Rocky Mountain region, Speedo USA’s largest
geographic territory.
In 2008, Erin married Chris Coffman and moved to Little Rock, Arkansas where she immediately became a Key
Spouse for the 61st Airlift Squadron, while simultaneously working as an Assistant Buyer and product coordinator
for Dilliard’s Inc. until 2011. While in Little Rock, Erin also joined the Junior League of Little Rock. Additionally,
Erin was an active member of the Little Rock Spouses’ Club and served as the publicity chair in 2010-2011.
Erin would love to continue to grow off of this years successes and strive to incorporate even more community
involvement next year.
1st Vice President
Kim Chitwood
Kim Chitwood, my husband Adam is a B1 pilot and we have been married for four years. We have two children
Katie and Will, and a jack russell named Dash. I have a BA in Finance from the University of North Florida. I have
served on the executive board for DSC for the last four years in the positions of Secretary, Operational Treasurer
(2 years), and currently Charitable Treasurer. In the last four years I have been a part of transforming the DSC
into what it is today. We have increased membership, as well as the amount of money we raise for charities and
scholarships. I would like to continue to be part of this wonderful group as 1st Vice President.
2nd Vice President
Nicole Bean
I would love to be elected for and serve as the 2nd Vice President for the 2014-15 Dyess Spouses Club board. I
think my experience and background can contribute to continued success of the DSC's charitable fundraising and
giving to the Dyess and greater Abilene community.
I served as the 2013-14 Dyess Spouses' Club Publicity chair, which entailed coordinating with the Social Chair and
developing and distributing marketing for all DSC events in a timely manner. Kept the DSC website up-to-date
with the latest information and took advantage of new venues through which to advertise all the great things the
DSC did throughout the year.
I've been the Key Spouse mentor for the 7AMXS key spouses for the past almost 2 years, which includes
coordinating their activities and ensuring the Key Spouse program for the squadron provides maximum outreach
and support for spouses.
Additionally, I have 7+ years of professional experience as a Systems Engineer both in the technical arena (3 years
Active Duty Air Force) as well as with policy. My professional experience helps me manage multiple projects
effectively and keep activities on track. It also contributes to ensuring that efforts are aligned with organizational
goals.
