Sponsored by EQUUS This FREE TEST on HORSEMANSHIP AND RELATED EQUINE TOPICS is open to all IHSA undergraduate members. Participants that complete the test will receive a subscription for a magazine of their choice published by the AIM Equine Network: EQUUS, Dressage Today, or Horse and Rider. The timed test consists of 50 questions taken from the USHJA Study Guide found on the USHJA website under “Programs/Horsemanship Quiz Challenge” at the following link: http://www.ushja.org/programs/youth/HQC_StudyGuide.pdf. The questions will not be specific to any particular riding discipline. Equine Topics will include: Anatomy, Bandaging, Conditioning, First Aid, Handling, Horse Health, Horse Identification, Nutrition, Pasture Management, Shipping, Shoeing, and Stable Management. The test will be available online for TWO WEEKS from Monday, February 22, at 6 a.m. EST to Monday, March 7 at 6 p.m. EST. It will be accessible on the IHSA Web site, by logging into your personal IHSA account, and clicking on the Teresa L. McDonald IHSA Scholarship Challenge. Follow the instructions given. Your score will be emailed to you at the conclusion of the test. You may only take the test once! The TOP TWO SCORERS from each IHSA Zone will be invited to compete at the 2016 IHSA NATIONAL HORSE SHOW in a final PRACTICUM PHASE on Saturday, May 7. (Travel and lodging at your expense). All Zone qualifiers will also receive an embroidered hat and recognition in the IHSA National Horse Show program. National winners are determined after the practicum phase is judged and scored.
