Interviewer: Alayna Lauver Interviewee: Michael Lauver Relationship: Father, Daughter Michael William Lauver was born on May 12th, 1970 at 11:27 pm. He was born at the Carlisle Hospital and raised in Perry County. His friends he had while growing up were mostly his cousins and other relatives. Riding bikes, fishing, hunting and camping were some of the things my dad and his friends did for fun. He liked all types of foods, but due to lack of money had mostly potato soup, pot pie, ham and green beans, and flower gravy. Though my father says his life while growing up was not fascinating, when asked he would not change a single thing. If it was a mistake he learned from it and if it was good, it turned out okay. The story my dad told me was all about his life. He was married twice, the second time to Kathy Lauver on August 5th, 1995. My sister Rachel was born that year. When I asked about my ancestors, I was told that my grandfather was German decent and my grandmother was Irish decent. My grandfather moved to Juniata County in the 1920’s and from there to the place my father grew up. They came here for a new place, and new start. Something my father was always told was to hurry up, to get out into the world and prove something while you still think you know it all. He took this advice and gave some of his own to me. I was told to never take life for granted. The people I know might change and I won’t always be here to help you make the right decision. The last thing I was told was that when the time came, he would tell me everything I need or want to know, and that I was very spoiled. Taking his advice, I am not taking life for granted and I am not afraid to say that my pops is like my best friend and he was very useful in this assignment!
