Band and Orchestra Booster Meeting Minutes
Thursday, July 30, 2015, 6:30-8pm

Introduction of 2015-2016 Board Members/teachers/committee chairs
o Teachers: Mark Johnson and Erica Hefner
o President – Jill Schachner
o Vice Presidents – Dara Bailey and Jennifer Wryals
o Treasurer – Robbin Palmer
o Secretary – Myocia Young-Montgomery
o Social Media/Communications Chair – Jody Mace-absent
o Orchestra Concert Directors – Zenovia Jackson and Myocia Young-Montgomery
o Band Concert Directors – Heather Cappello and Jeremiah Wryals
o Committee: Dessert Theater Coordinator – Meredith Ritchie-Absent
BOB meeting dates will remain the same, 1st Thursday of the Month @ 6pm
o Except no meeting for the month of December. Maybe no meeting in April as Spring
trip is tentatively scheduled for that time.

 Pizza is not needed
o 03/2-Band Pre-MPA-High School along with 8th graders
o 03/16—18-Northwest Host MPA in Black Box from 8am-6PM
 Volunteers will be needed

o Sign-up genius to be created to solicit volunteers

o 80 students in orchestra and 110 in band

o Above 2000 in checking

o Funds spent on music, food, security at concerts

 08/19 open house
 Setup 12:30-1 (Robbin)
 High School 1pm-2pm (Jill and Robbin)
 Middle School 2pm-3pm (Myocia)
 6th graders-3pm-5pmn (Robbin 4-5)
 Parents will receive information forms (Robbin-revise form)
 Place for parents to sign-up to be a volunteer (Erica to set up sign-up
genius)
 Kickoff Fundraiser – GoPlaySave (Erica in touch with them to provide books for
open house)
 Sold 81 books last year
 Suggested to sell flowers at concerts.
 Trial run to buy one bouquet and spit selling single flowers (concert
coordinators?)
 Suggested to ask to simply ask for annual giving to support BOB
 Class Fees-remain the same, $40.00 (Robbin update fee form and have ready)
 Robbin to ask Jodi to update PayPal to include Parent and student
names and if student is in orchestra, band or both
 T-Shirt Reorder (Robbin to order and pickup shirts in time for open house)
 Reorder S, M, and L
o Concert Wear fitting/ordering schedule
 Teachers will need help, especially if someone has experience fitting/sewing
 9/10-11
Concert Program Advertisement Sales
o Advertisement is one fee per year per ad
o Robbin to send advertisement form electronically to board
Website/Facebook/email updates?
o Jodi state that new website will be up and running soon.
o Suggested to have an Instagram account
o Those that record concerts please contact Jodi to see how to combine recordings and
upload
Dessert Theater
o Tabled till next meeting.
Austria Trip – for High School Orchestra
o Cost- $4000.00
o Robbin states that she is willing to collect monies from parents if they would to pay a
little at time for trip
CMS Harps – We will have a harp student in the orchestra program this year. CMS has 3 harps,
only one of which has been located and that one is in use. Must locate other 2 so that our harp
student has an instrument to play at school.
