CLASS TITLE: CERTIFIED RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGIST - RADIOGRAPHER I - F/C
ALLOCATION FACTOR(S)
This is work using radiation or radiation producing equipment on human beings for diagnostic or
therapeutic purposes. The employee(s) in the position(s) allocated to this class must spend a minimum
of 75 percent of their time performing duties which involve contact with patients/inmates in a
correctional or forensic facility or institution.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:

Conducts diagnostic radiographs.
Calibrates radiographic machines.
Operates and maintains film processing, diagnostic, radiographic, and associated equipment.
Processes films by developing, rinsing, fixing, washing, and drying.
Prepares chemicals for processing x-ray films.
Instructs patients as to posture and breathing during exposure.
Maintains x-ray and other laboratory equipment in working order, making minor adjustments.
Prepares records of work accomplished and maintains files of films and reports.
Performs related work as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of the procedures and techniques for using radiographic equipment.
Knowledge of the rules and regulations of radiation safety.
Skill in operating and maintaining radiographic equipment.
Ability to prepare chemicals and process film.

Ability to maintain accurate records.
Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


Certification as a General Radiographer in accordance with Florida Statute 468; or
Certification as a Dental Auxiliary in accordance with Florida Statute 466.
