What do you need to know to become successful early in life? Susanna
Kalnes is a 30-year-old business owner, fitness trainer, TV host, life coach,
and motivational speaker. In "Thrive by 30," Kalnes shares her secrets to
success not just physically, but financially and emotionally, as well. All areas
of life are discussed, including: nutrition, fitness, exercise, making money,
saving money, spending money, professional and personal relationships,
finding your passion, overcoming your hurdles, and being a role model in your
community.

o Sunday, March 9th at 12:15 p.m. in the IMU Main Lounge
o Kat is an Alpha Phi alum and former chapter president at the University of
Iowa. She will be speaking about the impact that Greek life has had on her
career and life goals, as well as a snapshot into her time on The Bachelor.
o This is an event sponsored by “Color Your Campus” who is hosting “The
Color Run” at the University of Iowa this year. Those who register for “The
Color Run” by March 7th, and bring their receipt as proof, will get a special
opportunity to meet Kat after the Program.
 Intrapreneurship Under the Golden Arches: one family's 50 year journey with
McDonald's
o Wednesday, March 5th Sheraton Hotel 5:00 p.m.
o The John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center and Midwestone Bank present
the Ben S. Summerwill Lecture. This educational features a local
entrepreneur who franchises most McDonald's locations. He will focus on
creating innovative and entrepreneurial ideas without having to start a
business, as well as tips and tricks for new college graduates looking for jobs.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

Serve on the Civic Engagement Program committee.
Meet regularly with chapter philanthropy representatives in order to:
a. Register chapter philanthropy events and announce deadlines for registration.
b. Assist in the organization and execution of philanthropy events.
c. Review post-event evaluation forms to gauge effectiveness and profitability of the
events.
d. Raise awareness for chapter events with the assistance of the Vice President for Public
Relations.

All chapters planning on selling shirts, apparel, or other merchandise for their philanthropic events
must submit designs to the IFC Executive Council for approval, effective Fall 2014.
G. Documentation from organization(s) to which service hours or which monetary donations were provided
must be submitted to the Vice President for Philanthropy & Community Service by a predetermined date set
by the IFC Executive Council December 5 for the fall semester and May 5 for the spring semester each
academic year. Chapters are expected to record, on average at least 4 hours of community service per
member, and report total membership hours to the Vice President for Philanthropy & Community Service.
