Doctoral Studies in Mathematics Institute of Mathematics Faculty of Mathematics and Physics University of Szczecin Programme of doctoral studies Faculty of Mathematics and Physics announces the enrolment for the first year of Doctoral Studies in Mathematics for the academic year 2013-2014. The range of proposed doctoral research in mathematics and physics is the following: ALGEBRA (classification of nondecomposable modules for finitely dimensional algebras, study of connections between vector bundles and coherent sheaves over certain manifolds and modules over appropriate finitely dimensional algebras , study of sheaves and inversible complexes over certain weighted projective lines, description of nondecomposable modules over canonic algebras); NUMBER THEORY, ARITHMETIC ALGEBRA (special values of L-functions in integer points, p-adic L-functions of automorphic forms, Iwasawa theory, diophantic equations of Fermat type, special elements in K-theory of number fields and curves, arithmetic of abelian manifolds, Galois representations); DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS, OPTIMAL CONTROL (controllability of finitedimensional systems and infinite-dimensional systems, stability and stabilisability of systems, classic problem of moments, and time-optimal control, synthesis problem for controls, mappings of systems); DYNAMICAL SYSTEMS ( dynamical zeta-functions and Nielsen theory, Reidemeister theory, Morse-Smale theory, Floer homology theory, Burnside-Frobenius theory); PHYSICAL MATHEMATICS (mathematical gravitation theory, geometric methods in physics, theoretic cosmology); SYMPLECTIC TOPOLOGY (diffeomorphisms groups of manifolds, topology of manifolds and symplectic fibrations); COMPLEX ANALYSIS (growth of integer, meromorphic, holomorphic and subharmonic functions, study of minimal surfaces by means of subharmonic functions); NONLINEAR ANALYSIS (Banach modules, nonlinear Hammerstein equations and elliptic problems, CM-selectors for multifunctions, variational calculus in Sobolev and Orlicz-Sobolev spaces ); List of prospective supervisors: dr hab.
