How decisions are made about eligibility for our service Your child’s school or children’s centre will, in the first instance, discuss their concerns about your child with an Educational Psychologist. If the concern cannot be resolved in this discussion, parents/carers will be invited to meet with the educational psychologist and school staff for further discussion of the issues and how to manage them. How we communicate with service users and how they are involved in decision making/planning We communicate with service users through face-to-face meetings and through email, letter and telephone. We work through interpreters whenever needed. We will only become directly involved with your child with your permission. At our first meeting with you, we will listen to your hopes and concerns for your child and, together with you and your child’s school, early years setting or children’s centre, we will plan support for your child. We conduct regular service evaluation of the Educational Psychology Services with all our schools. We are currently working in collaboration with the Markfield Information, Advice and Support Service, Haringey Involve and others to seek the views of parents, carers, children and young people to strengthen the quality, accessibility, relevance and responsiveness of our service. You can find out more about our service from the leaflets in your child’s school or children’s centre.
