Department of Communication Alumni Council
Benefits of Involvement in the Communication Alumni Council
 Making contacts with other communication alumni to network about jobs and
careers
 Identifying talented young students to recruit for company jobs and internship
positions
 Being involved in active mentoring of young careers
 Engaging in professional collaborations that enhance your own career
Alumni Council Membership
 Provides strategic and advisory support for the Department’s activities and events
regarding career education, development, and alumni networking.
 Meets twice a year, once in conjunction with All Gaucho Reunion and once in the
fall, either in person or virtual attendance.
 Includes a contribution of $1000 annually ($500 for alumni who have graduated
within the last ten years).
 Members belong to the UCSB Chancellor’s Council, receive a campus parking
pass, library privileges, recognition in the Annual Report and Donor Honor Roll
and invitation to all campus and regional events, including departmental events,
lectures, and conferences.
Friend of the Alumni Council
 Honorary membership as a donor to help sponsor campus events such as Career
Day, Seniors Mixer, Internship Workshops, online networking, etc.
 Includes a contribution of $1000 annually ($500 for alumni who have graduated
within the last ten years).
 Members belong to the UCSB Chancellor’s Council, receive a campus parking
pass, library privileges, recognition in the Annual Report and Donor Honor Roll
and invitation to all campus and regional events, including departmental events,
lectures, and conferences.
Supporter of the Alumni Council
 Volunteer to help the Council with organizing career education events and alumni
networking.
 Includes a contribution of $250 annually and the expectation to give 10 hours of
service per year to Council activities.
