HSEQ specialist responsible for Fleet DPA/CSO to join experienced team.
THE COMPANY
A2SEA provides offshore wind transport, installation and service solutions at a wide variety of
locations. We specialize in providing the offshore wind industry with safer, sustainable, and more
cost-efficient operations − through know-how, seamless integration of installation and service
solutions, and quality of performance.
As a specialist in offshore wind, the company fulfills an important role in the offshore wind energy
supply chain with own vessels and crew boats. There are around 400 employees, of which 120 work
in office settings, while the remaining are maritime staff at all levels.
THE POSITION
As our future HSEQ Specialist you will be the acting DPA/CSO for our fleet of offshore vessels which
are operating in international waters. The Designated Person Ashore (DPA) is responsible for
monitoring the safety and pollution aspects of the operations of vessels and serves as a link between
the company and those on board in ensuring and improving the safety of ships operations. (ref. ISM
code)
In your role as HSEQ Specialist you proactively promote and drive the implementation of HSEQ
excellence, while monitoring that work is planned and executed in line with the company’s fully
certified Safety Management System, HSEQ Codex including the active contribution of fulfilling our
business strategy on HSEQ aspects.
Main areas of responsibility:

Maintain, develop and implement relevant ISM/ISPS and HSEQ systems, tools and certificates
while acting as HSE Advisor on technical and operational manuals and instructions.

Take a leading role on operational safety prevention

Communication with fleet management and verification of lessons learned

Coordinate accident preventative initiatives

Evaluate training needs including coordination and conducting training on site.
ex. Risk management, safety related awareness & behaviour training

Conducting audits to ensure compliance

Report HSE performance and progress to Management

Investigation of accident, incident and near misses incl. root cause and trend analysis

Analysis of and responding proactively to observations and suggestions received

Compile and report HSEQ KPIs to relevant stakeholders
While you are monitoring the continuous improvement of our efforts ensuring compliance to the
highest HSEQ standards in the marked, your role will be to proactively promote HSEQ on our vessels
in our effort of enhancing a robust and rigid Safety Culture within our organization. Expected
travelling days per year are 40 and your personal onboarding will include several days at each
working station onshore and offshore. You will be reporting to Head of Group HSEQ.
Authority
You will be authorized to apply necessary preventive arrangement or stop any operations that causes
unacceptable risk to personnel, the marine environment or the vessel.
You are expected to implement corrective actions in case the operation of the ships has been
observed or reported not to be in accordance with the ISM/ISPS code or national & international
laws.

THE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate has several years of international experience with HSEQ Offshore. You must have
an analytical view to complex work cases as well as the ability to make decisions in critical situations.
Good communication skills are expected, hence you will have contact to many stakeholders and
employees onshore and offshore, and the ability to interact with all is critical.

Nautical background

Engineer or similar technical education is an advantage

Offshore knowledge is an advantage

Experience from previous DPA functions
