CCPU UNIT ACCREDITATION
Procedures for seeking accreditation of ASUM CCPU units
This unit accreditation procedure is designed to assist ASUM in accrediting the units offered by
training providers. The CCPU syllabi are developed by ASUM members practicing in the
specialty unit. All unit accreditation applications are referred to the CCPU/CAHPU Certification
Board for assessment and a decision on accreditation.
As a matter of policy, ASUM does not accept applications for accreditation where a syllabus is
not complete. However, provisional accreditation will be considered in these instances. ASUM
syllabi are available on http://www.asum.com.au/CCPU
How to submit an application for unit accreditation
Step 1. Complete the unit accreditation form and submit to ASUM with accompanying
documents. The application form must include the organisation’s contact details and indicate
which ASUM syllabus the unit reflects. Applications may reflect a number of ASUM syllabi. If a
syllabus is not available, provisional accreditation may be available.
Step 2. Prepare and submit a detailed report outlining how the submission addresses the
accreditation criteria listed on the application form. Generally, a course marketing brochure is
not sufficient in detail. All intellectual property submitted with the application form will be treated
confidentially and returned, if requested.
Help: Please refer to the submissions checklist at the end of this document for further guidance.
