Our mission at UNCSA is to train future professionals in the entertainment industry. The following
information, including evidence of my 36 plus years of employment here and extensive professional
experience, is intended to demonstrate that I am qualified to serve as an Assistant Dean for both
graduate and undergraduate Design and Production programs with responsibilities for program
coordination, curriculum development and curriculum review.

 Overseeing all academic matters, including issues of residency, financial aid, maintenance of
GPAs and thesis procedures
 Accountability for activities and effectiveness of costume training program
 Recruitment of students and oversight of admissions process for all undergraduate and
graduate programs
 Participation in disciplinary procedures involving students
Contributions to Design and Production include:








Leadership role in development of semester curriculum for all graduate and undergraduate
programs to be implemented in Fall 2011 involving research into programs at peer universities
Assisted in development of core Arts curriculum for all undergraduate programs (1975); chaired
committee to update undergraduate core curriculum to reflect current student population and
areas of concentration
Assisted in development of graduate and undergraduate programs in Costume Design and
Costume Technology (1974-present)
Conceived of and developed all costume technology classes and integrated them into the
Costume Design and Technology curricula (1978-present)
Assisted in the development and writing of MFA Thesis Requirements for Design and Production
graduate students (1984-85; 2006; 2009)
Led planning on new audition and admissions process (2004)
Chaired or participated in 2-3 Graduate Thesis Committees each year (1986-present)
