ASSEMBLAGE CHECKLIST Your next project will be an ASSEMBLAGE (a work of art made of found objects). To create an interesting assemblage, you must go on a TREASURE HUNT to find the following: 1. A GRADED WORKSHEET from your favorite class (other than ART ) 2. Something from NATURE (leaf, twig, bone, seashell, feather, flower, etc.)—must be clean, dry, and DEAD 3. A QUOTE that inspires YOU (may be written, printed, or cut out of a magazine) 4. A MAP of any kind 5. Something with a PATTERN 6. A piece of FABRIC 7. Something SHINY 8. A DRAWING of your FAVORITE ANIMAL (to be completed in class) 9. A LABEL from a food product 10. Something made of WOOD 11. A PHOTOGRAPH of a PERSON 12. At least 2 SMALL, THREE-DIMENSIONAL OBJECTS (button, empty thread spool, bottle cap, coin, key, playing card, movie ticket stub, metal hardware, old toy, plastic fork, etc.) HELPFUL HINTS: 1. A good artist is always observing the world around them! Wherever you are (walking home, in the cafeteria, at a football game, in a restaurant), search for materials that attract your eye and/or are meaningful to you! 2. Check off the above materials once you find them! 3. Enlist friends and family to help! 4. Find only materials you don’t mind cutting, gluing, tearing, painting, etc. 5. HAVE FUN!!!
