The Garden is operated by volunteers, under the oversight of the Coordinators, steering committee and Chapel Hill UMC Trustees / Administrative Board. The purpose of Green Bridges Community Garden is to provide a site for youth on probation (at-risk youth) for minor offences requiring fulfillment of community service. The garden harvest is then donated to the San Antonio Food Bank. The youth are working in the garden with this awareness therefore giving their work a positive purpose and a way for them to “give back” to their community. This process is known as Restorative Justice. Source # of People Approx. # of Hours Frequency Chapel Hill UMC 20 6 weekly Valley Hi 2 2 Weekly Neighborhood Assoc.
