Texas State University Campus Resources Scavenger Hunt
The purpose of this scavenger hunt is to familiarize and connect students with Texas State
campus resources that provide services to students to help them be successful Bobcats.
Instructions:

Each time you complete a task, upload your response/picture to the Facebook page.
After all tasks are completed, you will receive a message confirming your completion
and will be given directions on how to pick up your prize. Good Luck!
Career Services
 Take a picture with the “neon papers”-grab a few and learn some helpful tips on how
to market yourself through resumes and cover letters for careers, work studies,
graduate school and more. Upload your picture on the page.
Counseling
 One of the factors that play a large role in students’ success at Texas State is their
health; being healthy physically, emotionally, and mentally are important for students
to have an enjoyable college experience. The How to DEAL (Develop Effective
Approaches for Life) workshop series offered by the Counseling Center teaches students
about strategies to maintain positive mental health. Attend one How to DEAL

Student Health Center
 Okay, so you went away to college and may no longer have a doctor of your own or
you now live far away from your primary physician…HAVE NO WORRIES! Texas State
has a Student Health Center that offers affordable prices to college students with or
without health insurance. The Student Health Center has experienced physicians and
nurse practitioners and even a pharmacy. With this being said, go to the Student
Health Center, get the name of one physician or nurse and find out the center’s spring

Recreation Center
 Stay active, meet new people and engage in friendly competitive activities while at
Texas State. What better way to do that than hanging out at the Rec Center. Visit the
Rec Center and learn about five intramural sports they offer students to participate in

Retention Management & Planning
 Every student at Texas State University shares one goal in common, earning their
degree. The retention office works to support students’ success at Texas State while
creating an environment that gives Texas State a feeling of being a home away from
home. Go to the Center for Student Retention across the street from Chipotle and
meet one of the Graduate Assistants who work in the Retention office, Angelica
McLean, Justin Canfield, Jessica Enyioha, or Gerardo Galeana, get his/her business card

The Leadership Institute
 Ethics, Integrity, Excellence, Social Responsibility, Inclusivity, Civic Engagement, and
Empowerment are the Leadership Institute’s core values. Visit the Leadership Institute
located in the Dean of Students Office on the 5th floor of LBJSC and learn more about
the programs and services they offer. Type the names of two of the services on the

Student Learning Assistance Center (SLAC)
 The Student Learning Assistance Center provides academic support to students; they
provide tutoring services, learning and study skills workshops. Visit SLAC on the 4th
floor of the Library and learn more about them. Take a picture of their lab schedule

Writing Center
 Having writer’s block? Not sure how to start your paper or need someone to edit it?
The Writing Center provides tutors to give you one on one help with your paper. Visit
the center and learn how to make an appointment to help you make an A on your

Advising Center
 Hoping to graduate ASAP? Your academic advisor is here to help guide you through
your college journey and make sure you are taking the correct courses to keep you on
track to graduate. Visit your academic advising center and take a picture next to the

Office of Student Diversity and Inclusion (SDI)
 SDI is committed to providing cutting edge knowledge and skills to prepare students
for leadership in a culturally diverse and global society. From celebrations,
graduations, scholarships, and workshops, SDI has it all. Visit the SDI office on the 5th
floor of the LBJSC and learn about one of their upcoming events. Type your response

Campus Activities and Student Organizations (CASO)
 Looking to become more involved on campus? CASO is the best place to visit. From
homecoming to Bobcat Build and almost any organization you can think of, CASO is
here to make sure you get connected and have a memorable college experience. Visit
CASO on the 4th floor of the LBJSC and learn about an organization that is new to you.

 The math lab is sponsored by the Department of Mathematics and they provide
personalized math tutoring. Their services are free of charge and are located at
