Disqualification from the competition will result if, in the opinion of the committee at its sole discretion, any angler or skipper transgresses the following rules. If one or more anglers are at fault, that (or those) anglers(s) will be disqualified and there catches will be struck off the list. If a skipper is responsible, the entire boat and crew will be struck off the list. Under normal circumstances, the skipper will be regarded as being responsible for his crew. 1.1 1.2 1.3 1.4 1.5 1.6 Cheating in any way. Serious transgressions of safety rules and norms Artificially adding to the weight of a fish to be weighed. Being in the possession of prohibited species. Exceeding catch limits / Under size regulations. Any other transgression of marine conservation regulations such as fishing in a Marine Protected area. 2. Only 2014 Seaworthy Craft may enter this competition. 3. All Skippers and Crew must have Valid fishing permits. 4. Please note that it is very important for the conservation of our fish that the first fish caught by any angler is the fish actually presented for weighing. Culling, which is the practice continuing to target a specific species or continuing to fish once quotas have been reached, with the intent of catching larger fish whilst disposing of the smaller fish, is prohibited. skippers must please ensure that the rule is enforced on their boats. 5. The committee’s decision on any matter concerning rules and competition format is final. 1. Points will work as follows: The Kwelera species point system will be used to accumulate points throughout the competition. The system will work as follows: The Angler who catches the heaviest fish of a particular species on the day will receive 10 points the next heaviest fish will receive 9 points and so the points will descend until the minimum score of one is achieved. The lowest an Angler will score for a fish is 1 point. Competition officials will add day 1 points to your day 2 points and that is going to be your total score. Boat scores will be calculated by deviding the total score by the number of anglers on the boat. 2. Prizes will be awarded to: (persons do not have to be present to collect prizes) The Top 10 Anglers. The Top 5 Boats. The top 3 Juniors Anglers. The top 3 Lady Anglers. BIGGEST fish for each species R500 over the 2 days. BIGGEST Edible fish, R10 000 over the 2 days. Second BIGGEST Edible Fish, R5 000, over the 2 days. Third BIGGEST Edible Fish, R2 500, over the 2 days. Various other consolation prizes. 3. Only Fish weighing 2kgs or more will count in the KSBC Wild Coast Challenge. Any Fish “chanced” on the scales, which weigh less than 2kgs are forfeited to the Weigh master. A minimum weight of 5kgs is required for Black Steenbras. A minimum weight of 3kgs is required for Rock cod. 4. Fishing Times: Saturday 2nd and Sunday the 3rd will be from first light until the scales close which is at 17h00 on Saturday and 16h00 on Sunday. The boat’s fish must be at the scales before cut off time. The Weigh master and KSBC club committee, in their discretion, will decide whether or not a boat is too late for weigh in. In the event that a boat is late for the weigh in, no fish will be weighed after the scales have closed.
