Mr. Lovejoy is a Vice President and Global Sales Director, Manufacturing Sector for AECOM. He is responsible for
AECOM’s Environment Business Line’s manufacturing key account program. We serve over 300 manufacturing
clients and generate $100 million in revenue in this sector. Growing our key account relationships (targeting 20
multi-national corporations) by expanding the range of services provided and global geographies served is his daily
mission. Mr. Lovejoy works with the Manufacturing Sales Leaders in Asia, Australia, Canada, Europe/Middle
East/Africa and Latin America to identifying the best resources and ensuring quality project performance for our
clients.
Using his 23 years of business development and account management experience, he consults with clients on
engineering, regulatory compliance, health and safety, environmental, real estate and construction management
projects. He assists with maintaining an outward focus to anticipate and respond to evolving needs of industry. This
includes participation in industry associations and advisory committees and presenting at professional conferences
and meetings.

Ruth currently runs NU’s Environmental Performance and Information Management Group. This group is
responsible for administering the company’s Environmental Management System, compliance assurance and
performance data tracking, trending, and reporting.
Ruthanne holds a degree in Natural Resources Development from the University of Rhode Island. She has worked
in the water, gas and electric utility industries for two decades prior to which she worked as a landuse planner for
municipalities in both Rhode Island and Connecticut.

Mr. Dugan is the Manager of Safety Programs for Northeast Utilities (NU), one of the nation's largest utilities with
six regulated electric and gas utilities serving 3.5 million customers in 3 states (CT, MA, NH). He oversees the
development and implementation of safety and health policies and programs for the corporation, oversees industrial
hygiene, reports on corporate safety metrics (internal/external), is the primary liaison with federal OSHA and the CT
Bargaining Units. He has over 32 years of safety professional utility experience including all facets of the business
including heavy construction, generation (nuclear and fossil/hydro), gas operations, transmission and distribution.
In his career at NU, he has also led many functions in the company including Workers Compensation, Medical and
corporate Wellness.
He holds a B.S. in Safety Sciences from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and an M.B.A. from the University of
New Haven. He is an active member of the Edison Electric Occupational Safety and Health Committee.

Annette joined UTC as the Corporate Director of Health, Safety and Sustainability in November 2012. Prior to that,
she worked for GE in a variety of business for 16 years. Annette has a Bachelors in Chemical Engineering from the
University of Michigan and a Masters in Environmental Engineering from Case Western Reserve.

Rich is Director of Environmental Policy for the University of Connecticut, where he established and oversees the
University’s Sustainability and Environmental Compliance offices. Hired as the University’s first environmental
officer in 2002, Rich has spearheaded collaborative efforts among students, faculty, staff and the community that
have propelled UConn to consistently high rankings among campus sustainability leaders, both nationally and
internationally. As compliance director, he hired a team of environmental professionals to develop and implement
an EMS that has significantly improved UConn’s communications, training, document control and record of
performance on air, water, remediation and construction-related compliance matters. He chairs UConn’s
interdisciplinary Environmental Council, which is advisory to the President and Provost on sustainability issues, and
is the founding advisor to the EcoHusky Student Group. He also co-chairs, along with Facilities Management
senior managers, UConn’s Environmental Compliance Teams for the main and regional campuses. He is an
organizing member of the Northeast Campus Sustainability Consortium’s Steering Committee and serves on the
Executive Committee of the Campus Consortium for Environmental Excellence.
Prior to joining UConn, Rich worked as a corporate environmental manager at a Fortune 500 energy company,
where he chaired the company’s Environmental Committee. He also was a practicing environmental and land use
attorney at a Hartford law firm, and was an adjunct professor of environmental law for Rensselaer at Hartford’s
Graduate School. Earlier in his career, having served for two years as a Deputy Counsel at the Connecticut
General Assembly, he was an environmental and energy program director and lobbyist for CBIA, a statewide
business association.

Ken is the Executive Director of Environmental Health and Safety Programs for the University of Connecticut, the
University of Connecticut Health Center and branch campuses. Ken is also the Radiation Safety Officer at the
University of Connecticut Health Center. Prior to assuming the position of Executive Director in January, 2012, he
was the Director of the Research Safety Office at the University of Connecticut Health Center. Ken began
employment with the University of Connecticut in 1991, and was Deputy Director of the Yale University Radiation
Safety Office prior to that date. After graduating from the Yale University Medical School’s Department of Public
Health in 1968, Ken was employed by the University of California’s Lawrence Radiation Laboratory (now known as
Lawrence Livermore Labs) working as a radiation safety professional in the nuclear weapons development and
testing program. He was appointed to two National Council on Radiation Protection and Measurements
Committees and was a member of Governor Ella Grasso’s Independent Risk Assessment Team for Nuclear Power
Plant accident response. Ken was also appointed to a Connecticut Academy of Sciences and Engineering
Committee to evaluate nuclear power risks to the citizens of Connecticut. He was certified by the American Board
of Health Physics in 1981 and has published and presented many papers throughout the years. He has worked
with the Connecticut DEEP to develop a complete revision of the State’s Ionizing Radiation Regulations. Ken has
also received a graduate certificate in Industrial Hygiene from the University of New Haven and a certificate for
Control of Biohazards from John’s Hopkins University.
