Notes
The idea of this is to allow
for as much creativity as
possible.
Two times per year teachers
will administer a centrallydeveloped pre/post unit
assessment to assess growth
of content knowledge. The
post-tests will be the mock
SOL and the Benchmark
Test. The pre-tests will be a
sample of the full mock SOL
and Benchmark test. All
students will show growth
on each comparison.
Teachers will use their
semester and final exams as
the post-test. The pre-test
will be 15 random questions
from the post-test. All
students will show growth
on each comparison.
The goal is to begin using the Historical Skills in 2012 for measuring Student Academic Growth with all teachers. Some SOL teachers will pilot the
pre- and post- test. By 2013, both will be fully implemented. Teachers without SOL classes can choose both History Skills options.
