Vocabulary List #3 – English II
This quiz will be on Friday, September 11th.
Main Vocabulary Words
The first ten vocabulary words are the primary ones for you to study.
You should know the definition of these words and how to use them in a sentence.

Spelling Bonus
The last five vocabulary words are supplementary, meaning they are extra credit.
They come from a list of 100 words that are difficult to spell for most people.
You should know how to spell these words for the quiz.
If you spell them correctly, I will add extra credit points to your quiz.
If you spell any incorrectly, they will not count against you.
You should at least attempt to spell these words. They are here to help you.

This website is free to use, and I have already plugged in the vocabulary words and definitions for you. I
also put the spelling bonus words on it. There are six ways to study on this website.

Flashcards – The words appear as virtual flashcards. The words are on the back with the
definitions on the front. Use these to quiz yourself.
Learn – This gives you the definition, and you type the word that goes with it (or vice versa).
Speller – This will say the word, and you must spell it. It will grade them for you.
Test – This will make a written test for you practice taking. The questions on this test will be quite
similar to the ones that I will be asking on your quiz.
Scatter – This is like a matching game where you will be timed with how quickly you can match
the word to the definition.
Race – This is a game that will see how fast you can type the word for the definition that is
crossing the screen. It might be good to have your word list with you when you play this one,
unless you really want a challenge.
