LEAH Training Requirements
300 Hours
 150 Clinical Hours
-
100 hours (primary training site): Must be a participatory site where direct care is provided by
LEAH fellow.
50 hours (other sites): Shadowing or observing at a minimum of 2 interdisciplinary secondary
sites*.
*Secondary sites will involve a minimum of 4 half-days at a clinic and can be shadowing,
observation, or participatory experiences
Required Clinical Experiences:




Must observe or participate in care in at least 3 interdisciplinary settings (primary
training site and 2 secondary sites).
Your primary or one of your secondary sites must be the interdisciplinary Seattle
Children’s Hospital Adolescent clinic.
Must have 2 shadowing experiences with providers from each of the other 4 disciplines
(i.e. Nutrition trainee must shadow medicine, social work, psychology and nursing).
Shadowing sessions should be at least 4 hours long. These sessions count towards the
required 50 hours in secondary sites.

This is a list of interdisciplinary shadowing & observation experiences available to UW LEAH trainees
through the UW LEAH program. The trainee and their mentor are responsible for arranging these
experiences. Additional sites must be approved by your mentor.
