Form a mixed gender group 6-12 students (max)
Brainstorm ideas of what kind of film you would like to create.
Week 1
* Note – Film must be G Rated and contain no violence or swearing as

Journal
Keep a Journal style document throughout the term, to record any Ongoing
notes/ideas/discussions you have with your group.
Collaborate together to create a storyline and then a film script in English.
Share out the parts so that each group member has approximately the same Week 2

document on your Chrome Books).
Make a copy of the script. Translate the script (only the speaking parts) into
French. You may use Collins Online Dictionary to help you with unknown
Week 4
3 words. You may also work with your group to complete this task.
Friday
Please DO NOT simply copy and paste chunks of text with a translator. Use
your prior knowledge and peer/teacher support.
A) Prepare a “Story Board” plan. Discuss the order of scenes with your
group. Draw a basic illustration of each scene and write a caption explaining
what direction you would like the camera to be facing. (A3 Plan given in class)
B) Learn
your lines!! Learn your lines!! Learn your lines!!
4 Tips for learning lines:





Speak to the teacher if unsure of pronunciation.
Go onto Google Translate, type in word to listen to the pronunciation.
Read your lines several times per day.
Ask a family member and/or friend to listen to you say your lines.
Practise as much as possible with your group members (any spare moment!)
Filming - YOU MUST BE READY!
5
6
Important - Due to the number of classes involved there is not enough time to do several
takes of your film. You need to have everything ready – your lines, acting roles, props,
costumes etc. You will be notified in advance of the filming date.
Event planning - Presentation Night.
You will be assigned to specific roles and asked to complete certain tasks in order to help
prepare for our film presentation nights.
FRENCH Film Festival - Save the dates! Nights of Glamour and Fun!
7
Please put into your diaries Wednesday and Thursday nights 6-8:30pm, of Week 4
(Term 4) These nights have been reserved for the screening presentation of your films.
It is expected that you attend at least one of these nights hopefully with your parents.
