Making a Splash at Oak Grove Elementary 2014-2015 School Improvement Plan MISSION We will challenge students with the rigors of education and relevance of learning to become responsible 21st century learners by building strong relationships with students and their families. VISION Every Oak Grove student will be connected and involved in 21st Century learning that is rigorous and relevant to his or her differentiated needs. Students will all embrace the cultural diversity and be active leaders in our school community. Goal 1: Goal 2: By 2016, all subgroups of students will meet or exceed their targeted Annual Measurable Objective (AMO). By June of each year, 95% of parents, teachers and students will agree that OGES is a good place to learn and teach and promotes healthy and active children. KEY PROCESS PLTs will collaborate and plan differentiated instruction to gain consistency in implementation and to increase student achievement. Teachers will implement ELA and Math interventions with fidelity. ACTION STEPS Participate in weekly PLTs to implement grade-level literacy action steps Utilize current literacy assessment practices provided by WCPSS to further gather data; CMAPP, Running Records, EVAAS, mCLASS, Great Leaps, Digging Deeper, CASE 21 and EOGs Through peer observations and walk-throughs, teachers will be provided opportunities to integrate, discuss, and share research-driven instructional practices and strategies. Monitor progress and evaluate student proficiency on assessments and modify intervention plans accordingly Develop and utilize PEPs for students in all grade levels that are at risk for academic failure Grade levels will meet two times a year to have vertical conversations focused on data Through modeling, collaboration, and professional development, opportunities will be provided for all teachers to strengthen intervention delivery The SIT, Data Team, and grade level PLTs will implement the OGES walk-through instrument Based on walk-through data, support staff will provide support for teachers to increase the fidelity of intervention implementation KEY PROCESS Support teachers’ professional growth and job satisfaction through professional development and concerns about time constraints. Continue the Positive Behavior initiative, character education, and promote cultural tolerance. ACTION STEPS Create a master schedule that protects duty-free lunch periods, provides collaboration times, and protects core instruction during literacy time Review 2014 TWC survey data, 4th grade student survey data, and parent survey data and identify strengths and areas that need improvement Strategize solutions to ensure maximum planning time per week for all teachers Inform staff of resource allocation, budgeting, and issues that arise with teaching and learning Use Early Release time for further PLT discussions and data analysis as necessary and/or available Provide meaningful staff development based upon the needs of targeted sub-groups Implement with fidelity the Positive Behavior Support Program across all school settings Increase character education initiatives for staff and students and encourage staff to model cultural knowledge, awareness, and tolerance
