After School Program Guide
Registration is now open for 2015-2016 AFTER3@PLP!
AFTER3@PLP is an on-site after school program at Pine Lake Preparatory. The goal of the program is to provide
traditional and innovative Extended Day programming for students. The program will be open to all K-8th Grade students
at Pine Lake Preparatory. New this year is our Middle School Program! We will have one room dedicated to students
who are enrolled in Middle School with unique programming just for them!
LOWER SCHOOL
Kindergarten-Fifth Grade Program Description:
The mission of AFTER3@PLP is to provide a safe, enriching afterschool experience that engages each student and
contributes to his/her academic, social and physical growth. Programming will include homework time (assistance if
needed), snack, recess, and selected age appropriate activities. Our goal is to provide an environment where children can
unwind after a long day of learning, while assisting Parents with getting homework finished. Parents are welcomed to
provide snacks to their children, especially if there is a food allergy or gluten sensitivity. Please notify the Program
Director if your child cannot eat snacks provided by the Program.
Program Hours:
AFTER3@PLP will begin at ALL CALL and end at 6:00 pm each full school day. On early dismissal days,
AFTER3@PLP will operate from ALL CALL – 6:00 pm; on selected “closed” days from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. If you
arrive late (past 6pm) you will be assessed a Late pickup fee. On half days that precede Holidays (Winter Break and
Spring Break), the program will close at 3:30pm. The Program will also close at 3:30pm on the last day of school.
Please refer to the AFTER3@PLP calendar for more information.
LOWER SCHOOL PROGRAMMING
The AFTER3@PLP program will provide homework assistance; however the program does not provide individual
tutoring services. Ultimately, it is the student’s and parent’s responsibility to ensure homework completion each day.
The following is an example of an After School schedule for the Lower School. Each class level is unique and the
schedule will be based on many factors such as facility space, weather, dismissal logistics and number of students
enrolled.

AFTER3@PLP Extended Day (Lower School) Homework Time
It is the goal of the K-5 program to be a time during which students can relax and unwind from their day. We give the
children structured time to complete homework and reading. For our younger students, 20 minutes. We increase this
time as the grade increases. In the 2/3 grade room we start with 20 minutes then bump to 30 as the school year progresses
and workload increases. For our 4/5 group, we have 30 minutes of homework. We will work with the day teachers so
that the children have alternate activities during dismissal (instead of working on their homework at that time).
MIDDLE SCHOOL
After School Program Guide
AFTER3@PLP Extended Day (Middle School)
It is the goal of the new Middle School division of the PLP After School Program to provide a safe after school
experience for the Middle School aged children. Students no longer identify with the Lower School environment, they
want their independence and they want to make their own decisions. We will help the children transition to the next step
in their academic career and build healthy educational and social habits in a safe, positive and encouraging
environment. All Middle School children must be picked up by 5:30, but no later than 6pm if they have a sibling in the
LS program.

AFTER3@PLP Fees and Financial Guidelines
Registration and Tuition:
Before a student may enter the program, parents must complete and submit the Registration Form and Contract, along
with a Registration Fee of $25.00 per child and tuition for the first attendance period to the AFTER3@PLP Program
Director. The first tuition payment must be paid in full, prior to the first day a student participates in AFTER3@PLP.
Tuition is determined by the number of students a family enrolls and whether the student(s) attends part-time or full-time.
As long as the student is enrolled, tuition is paid, regardless of whether or not the student attends. Withdrawal
from the AFTER3@PLP program require 30-day advance written notice.
Payment
When registering, parents must submit all necessary paperwork and an annual non-refundable $25.00 registration fee
per child.
Parents must list their child as a full-time OR part-time attendee. Full time students will attend for three or more days
each week while part time students will attend no more than two days per week. Part time students must pre-select the
days per week they wish to attend; this selection will endure for the entirety of the student’s participation in the program
(i.e: “Mary Jane” shall attend on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, but will not attend on any other day). Requests for changes
to a student’s schedule must be made to the Program Director, in writing (email is acceptable), by the Sunday prior to the
week. All efforts will be made to accommodate schedule change requests; however requests are not guaranteed until
confirmation in writing has been issued by the AFTER3@PLP Program Director. In order to ensure the appropriate
personnel and resources, families are not allowed to enroll their student(s) on a random “pay-per-visit” status unless the
Program Director determines the program has the capacity to manage these additional students. All students, even “payper-visit” attendees, must be preregistered. Tuition payments are expected for each attendance period for each
registered student, regardless of whether or not the student attends.
New for the 2015-2016 School Year:
Tuition payments will be billed monthly, in advance, for the days in the next month the program is OPEN (paid monthly
via OrgsOnline). If you wish to pay via automatic payment (Bank Draft), your Annual Tuition will be divided into 10
Equal payments. If you acquire late pick up fees, they will also be included in the Bank Draft. OrgsOnline will be open
the last week of the month to pay your next month. All attendees will be permitted to attend on early dismissal days and
“closed” days, regardless of whether or not said day falls on a student’s typically scheduled day (RSVP Required).
