BOB VANDER PLAATS REFUTES ENDORSEMENT RUMORS
Asserts no decision planned until after Nov. 20 Presidential Family Forum
Urbandale, IOWA – A recent Politico article quoted an unnamed campaign staffer suggesting it would
be a "stunner" if The FAMiLY LEADER President and CEO Bob Vander Plaats didn't endorse Sen. Ted
Cruz for president.
Frankly, Vander Plaats is "stunned" by the suggestion.
"I've been fielding calls from media and from campaigns on these unfounded rumors the last two days,"
said Vander Plaats. "So let me make it clear: Neither I nor the The FAMiLY LEADER plans any
endorsement prior to the Nov. 20 Presidential Family Forum, nor has any candidate yet secured a
'favorite' status.
"Our board and team and I have been very upfront and diligent regarding our process," Vander Plaats
continued. "And with so many capable candidates in the field, we are not even close to a unified choice
for endorsement. Frankly, we're hoping the Presidential Family Forum on Nov. 20, which gives Iowans a
truly unique look into the hearts and worldviews of the candidates, will also give us the fresh perspective
needed to make a decision."
