VCE STUDIO ARTS WRITING TEAM TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR A MINOR REVIEW The Studio Arts Writing Team will prepare minor revisions to the VCE Studio Arts Study Design in accordance with the VCAA Principles and Guidelines for the development and review of VCE studies. The role of the writing team is advisory and its proposed study design will be subject to endorsement by the Senior Secondary Curriculum and Assessment Committee (SSCAC) and approval by the Board of the VCAA. Specifically, the writing team will consider minor amendments to the study in terms of: the relationship between the study and other VCE, VET and VCAL studies the effectiveness of the assessment program in measuring student performance against the learning outcomes the appropriateness of the weighting of examinations and other external assessments and School-based assessment the appropriateness of the areas of study and outcomes, and their relationship to the examination and/or school assessed task with particular attention to the current outcomes that are not School Assessed Coursework student workload gender and/or cultural and/or socio-economic bias the scope, aims and rationale in relationship to the VCE Art Study design to ensure that the two studies offer a broad and diverse curriculum that caters for student abilities, interests and pathways the use of digital technologies in the study, including for the purposes of assessment. Consultation In the development of the draft revisions the Writing Team will ensure that it consults with key interest groups including: Art Education Victoria teachers interested in being consulted on VCE Studio Arts the State Reviewers, Chairs of the Examination Panels, Performance Examination Chief Assessors, Written Examination Chief Assessors. The consultation draft and questionnaire will be made available on the VCAA website during the consultation period.
