WORSHIP LEADER AT THE WESLEY FOUNDATION STUDENT APPLICATION Please prayerfully consider serving God through this ministry, while intentionally growing in your own faith and developing your gifts as a worship leader. To be consider for the worship leader position for the 2010/2011 school year, please return this application by Friday, April 16th. Interviews with Paige will be held the week of April 19th. The mission of the Wesley Foundation is EIU is to connect students to the love of God known through the life of Jesus Christ. We strive to offer a spiritual home, provide opportunities for personal growth and spiritual formation, serve Christ by serving others, work for peace with justice, develop Christian leaders and provide outreach through missions. The vision for the position of Worship Leader for the Wesley Foundation for the 2010-2011 school year is provide quality, thoughtful music leadership to both the worship band and to the community that will enhance the overall worship experience at Wednesday night worship. The purpose of the worship leader at the Wesley Foundation is: To provide music leadership and creativity to the worship experience while also empowering other members of the worship team To develop leadership skills Necessary qualifications: A call to serve this campus ministry as a servant leader An ability to work and leader your peers Knowledge of current worship music and ability to lead others to learn and rehearse said music Creativity in song selection and ideas to enhance the worship experience Organization!!! The Expectations for the Worship Leader: Agree with the mission and vision of the ministry. Recruit membership in the worship band (currently called FOAM) Organize weekly rehearsals for the band Work with campus minister to choose a set of songs for each worship experience Organize and lead the band to play out at another church/venue once a month Attend the New Church Start Boot Camp May 11-13, 2010 (if summer job requirements conflict with dates, please let Paige know) Attend a two day retreat July 31-August 1, 2010 (if summer job requirements conflict with dates, please let Paige know) Attend a weekly one-hour leadership meeting on Sunday nights at 7pm Meet with the campus minister on a weekly basis to evaluate worship and plan for future worship experiences Actively participate in the ministry (attend at least one mission and one social activity this semester) As the Actively attend to your own spiritual growth through prayer, bible study, and other means Campus Minister, I pledge to: prepare for meetings provide a variety of growth, leadership, and learning experiences meet regularly with the worship leader provide resources and guidance bring awareness of theology, Bible, meditation, spiritual discipline to bear on ministry areas provide supervision and individual attention In return for his/her dedication to the ministry, the Wesley Foundation will award the worship leader a $1600 scholarship (payable at $200/month).
