The course will run at Frylands Wood over 2 days, start time is 9:30 & finish 17:00 on both days.
The LAW: Persons under 14 MUST be supervised by a person over 21. However the term
"supervised" does not specifically refer to the instructor/range officer thus providing a 21 plus
responsible adult is also present the tutor may be under 21. People ages 18 or over can attend
the course.
The NSRA Licence that accompanies the YPS Tutor's Diploma is valid for five years. It may be
renewed if you have been regularly using the qualification so keeping a record or logbook is very
important. The minimum level of use is 25 separate occasions over the 5-year period with at least
5 in the 12 months prior to renewal.
Under Section 21 of the Firearms Act 1968 any person who has been sentenced (anywhere
in the UK) to a term of imprisonment, youth custody or detention in a young offenders
institution for a period of more than three months but less than three years is subject to a
five year prohibition from having any firearm or ammunition in his possession. A person
who has been sentenced to a term of imprisonment or youth custody for a period in excess
of three years is prohibited for life. Suspended sentences do not attract any prohibition.


I enclose a non-refundable payment of £80 to take part in the NSRA course on the
5th – 6th March 2016. Cheques made payable to 'Lewisham District Scout Council' or you can pay
by BACS (please ask us for our bank details), cash or card.
By completing this form you’re confirming that you are not prohibited to shoot under
Section 21 of the Firearms Act (see above).
I would be interested in staying overnight at Frylands
(tick the box if so). Camping is £3.50
per night (we don’t provide tents). Indoor accommodation is subject to availability for a cost of £5
per night.
