Civil/Structural Engineer Position requires thorough knowledge of civil/structural design and engineering techniques on gas and process treatment plants. Responsible to plan and conduct independent work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures and criteria. Devise new approaches to problems, and prepare or modify drawings, specifications, calculations, charts and graphs, and monitor work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices and standards. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Perform various calculations using up-to-date software programs to design various rotating & static equipment foundations, pipe rack/pipe support structure, shallow and deep foundations and other typical engineering/design functions related to the civil/structural components of standard compression and process gas plants. Monitors performance of any sub-contract engineering firms to ensure codes and company and industry standards are met or exceeded. Shall be the technical subject matter expert for resolving complex engineering issues related to projects. Performs engineering design evaluations. Expected to assist in the engineering and design of one or more complex projects. Consults with other company and sub-contracting engineering firm personnel as needed to complete tasks. Able to specify and assist in the purchasing of equipment, buildings and materials. Able to assist construction teams as required. Able to stay on-task and meet a project schedule. Able to design and evaluate tools for on-site manufacturing facility. STAAD. Pro and AutoCAD/CADWorx software proficiency required. Required Education/Experience: Requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering. Requires a minimum of five (5) to ten (10) years of experience in Civil/Structural Engineering in the Oil and Gas industry. Preferred Experience: Prior construction experience a plus. Prior civil/structural engineering consulting experience within petrochemical industry is a plus. Grading, site planning and prep experience is a plus. Current registered Professional Engineer (PE) preferred. Must possess excellent command of the English language in both written and spoken form. Use of Microsoft product software/programs and civil/structural calculation software is required. Some domestic travel may be required. Ability to communicate effectively and clearly, in one-on-one and group presentation situations. Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of internal staff and management, sub-contract engineering personnel and clients. Process Engineer Possesses a thorough knowledge of gas processing and treating design and technology. Has a though understanding of Hysis and other process design programs to create detailed Heat and material balances for traditional and novel gas and treating processes. Possesses a thorough understanding of design and selection of gas processing equipment (i.e. heat exchangers, separators, fractionation towers, pumps, turbo expanders, compressors, ect.). Has a thorough knowledge of process control concepts. Can specify effective control loops on P&IDs. Has the ability to develop Complex P&ID’s from origination to completion. Possesses a strong knowledge of fluid dynamics and hydraulics. Is able to work with computer programs to develop line sizing for P&IDs and analyze and design piping to meet process hydraulic requirements. Develops updates and revises P&T Engineering Standards. Performs line sizing using computer software using the proper process criteria. Makes decision on design pressures and line classification changes. Capable of properly specifying equipment to be purchased from outside vendors, obtaining, and analyzing competitive bids from a technical and financial stand-point. Should be capable of properly documenting the evaluation. Capable of check rating an existing Standard Design for new specific applications. Obtains and evaluates vendor quotations covering vendor inquiries and preparing lowest evaluated vendor costs. Works with Technical Service Personnel to monitor field problems and warranty claims and assist in finding cost effective solutions. Assesses field recommendations on Standard or custom unit design, and participates in implementing efficient corrections that reduce operational problems. Performs research and analyses of data such as application engineering proposal, design specifications, drawings, industry codes and equipment manuals to determine feasibility of design or application of equipment Performs engineering calculations to size vessels, piping, valves and auxiliary systems to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications. Coordinates with designers to develop general arrangement and assembly drawings. Evaluate, propose and implement advanced technology and/or develops product enhancements. Develops, and conducts internal technical training and mentors other engineers. Will occasionally travel to customer locations. Attend technical training as required by the job. Manages and executes complex special projects as assigned. Actively helps maintain the P&T Engineering Best Practices and Procedures Manual to make sure that it is up to date and complete. Produces schedules, reports, and presentations using Microsoft Office, Projects, and Power Point software. Occasionally participate in plant commissioning and start-ups. Educational Experience: Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or higher. Has Process Simulator experience. Experience originating Gas Process and Treating P&ID’s. Experience with Plant control systems. Eight to fifteen years experience in the design of Gas processing and treating plants or equivalent... A deep knowledge of ASME, API, NEC, NFPA, and OSHA terms and guidelines.. Preferred Experience: Experience with packaging design, skid design, ASME - section 8 pressure vessel design. Experience with rating and sizing heat exchangers, pressure vessels, fired heaters, fractionation towers, pumps, and compressors. Knowledge of piping and pipe schedules, flanges and fittings. API Tank Design Engineer Works with a team of engineers to develop conceptual and detailed designs for tank and vessel work Duties and Responsibilities: Produce calculations, drawings, sketches, instructions, bills of materials, etc. for drafters and to follow to satisfy the requirements of customer specifications Work with other members of design team to complete all required drawings and bill of materials Provide technical assistance to other design engineers, drafters and technical staff, and to shop floor personnel as required Evaluate customer requirements and integrate requirements into the production schedule Perform on-site engineering evaluations including failure analysis, hydrotest exemption, safe fill height, settlement analysis, and inspection intervals Develop design automation programs Design field equipment and fall protection systems Minimum Requirements: Five plus years in the design of aboveground storage tanks and pressure vessels, degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering; must be able to use a personal computer to do engineering calculations using commercial and proprietary programs, and to perform other office functions. Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required: Understanding of API 620/650/653 and ASME Section VIII Standards Finite Element Analysis (FEA) AutoCAD Ability to effectively interface and collaborate with customers, suppliers, etc Willing to travel (customers, suppliers, conferences, expositions) Should be a ‘self-starter’ and show initiative and follow tasks through to completion with little guidance Able to present themselves and their work in a professional manner to management and to customers VP of Quality This position is responsible for ensuring the manufacture of quality products through the establishment and enforcement of quality standards and processes. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Establish quality and reliability standards by studying product and customer requirements; Utilize the resources of other members of management, operations, program managers and product engineers. Establish in-process product inspection standards by studying manufacturing methods and procedures. Establish a product quality documentation system by writing and updating quality procedures to satisfy the requirements of the QS9000 quality standard. Establish raw materials standards by studying manufacturing and engineering requirements, conferring and negotiating with suppliers. Devise testing methods and procedures. Lead the supplier rating and continuous improvement programs with suppliers. Maintain product quality by enforcing quality policies and procedures to meet customer requirements, while collaborating with other members of management to develop new product and engineering designs and manufacturing and training methods. Sustain a quality assurance team through the recruitment process, orientation and training of team members. Lead and monitor quality assurance team efforts through planning, coaching, counseling, appraisal and discipline as necessary. Complete quality assurance operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees and following up on work results. Establish standards for the analysis of customer returns by devising evaluation tests, methods, and procedures. Prepare reports of findings and initiate corrective actions; present findings to customer management as a comprehensive program to improve warranty and reduce customer returns. Prepare product and process quality reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends. Achieve financial objectives by preparing a quality assurance budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions. Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed. Perform additional duties as required.
