Current teachers review placement and identify which students are misplaced. Teachers justify why they believe the placement is inaccurate. Justifications may include
classroom assessment performance or information supplied by other sources. Please refer to the course description document. If teachers would like to recommend students
to the advanced math course they must complete a teacher recommendation form.
MS PLCCs give updated lists to appropriate staff (e.g. schedulers)
MS PLCCs have copy of updated lists (with elem. teacher input) sent to SAAs to apply June criteria

Consideration of
Parent/Guardian
Requests
Parent requests can be submitted to a review board that may be comprised of an administrator, a counselor, the department leader, and a teacher
of that curriculum area (depending on the availability at the school). The review board will take into account the parent’s request, the student’s
course history, and their current academic achievement which may include outside testing information. The administrator/counselor will inform the
parent of the review board’s decision.

Final Placement of
Students
Administrator/Counselor make final placement adjustments
Note: For initial placement the Fall MAP score will take precedence over MCA-II results. Note: The Spring MAP score will be the primary placement indicator.
