Summer Orientation

The above dates will count as your 3 required Trade Days for the 2015-2016
school year.

School Year: Eight after-school sessions. In addition:
 Attendance at the September Demonstration Teacher meeting
 Observe a Demonstration Teacher for the purposes of professional learning
 Participate in coaching experiences with the Mentor Teacher and Staff
Developer
 Meet regularly with the Mentor Teacher

Required Materials: Provided by Pennsbury School District
Goals: The goals are as follows:
 Acculturate new teachers into the Pennsbury School District
 Develop a culture of “Grading for Learning”, “Growth Mindset”, and
“Embedded Formative Assessment” to support student success
 Support teachers’ proficiency in the Educator Effectiveness System, Act 82
 Meet the PDE Induction requirement
Attendance Policy: Teachers are expected to attend all eight after-school
sessions at their appropriate teaching level. However, if a conflict arises on a
particular date, teachers may attend a different teaching level session. Induction
must take priority over any extra-curricular obligations. Teachers will sign up for
all Induction sessions using My Learning Plan. Upon completion of each session,
teachers will have seven days to complete the evaluation on My Learning Plan in
order to obtain Act 48 credits.
